Eddie has to find a way to get him in the number 10 position with enough contribution to the linking of the midfield and off the ball stuff. That hasn't worked so far, and is what has resulted in him being labelled as a starting 8. The left wing slot would probably be sacrificed for a more combative LM like when Joelinton played the role, or maybe Ramsey, for it to be productive imo

I do recall a while back him saying he wants to stay playing for as long as possible,wherever it takes him, which is fair do's. It rarely works out like this but I'd say it's not too sentimental to keep him in mind for a future coaching spot, he's been that influential in his time here and his leadership qualities are massively evident.
