Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League

Well tough. -
Think this loan will be perfect for him. If he comes back in Jan with 10 championship goals to his name he'll have an excellent case to be starting games.

Hayden ha played a lot and I'm not convinced with Perez in this league, but I do think we'll improve a lot over the next few months. Really looking forward to seeing Mitro and Gayle together. At the moment I think we're winning games more due to our individual players ability and a tight back four than anything else. All of our defenders were here last season whereas our entire midfield and attack, bar shelvey and gouffran, are new signings. Once they click as a unit I think we may actually start scoring the odd goal from open play. -

Weird to think given their reputations at the start of the season but Derby and Brighton are the only clubs we've faced who are in the bottom half. -

They both seem to have some semblance of interest in playing for NUFC and mild athleticism, so they are improvements in that sense. Yet neanderthals when on the ball and incapable of reading the game. We've spent 10mill on standing still. I could understand just about buying one of them....why 2 ? Because we potentially have about 50 competitive games to play this season? Against teams with much smaller squads and I've already siad I'd have kept Mbabu instead of one of them two. Think about it, over 10million on back up players, two players neither you or I would put in our starting XI yet it seems like we'll "get by" up front, creatively in the middle and out wide. Still think we'll cruise promotion by the way, but we'll spend more and be less prepared than we should be. Purely my opinion. My take on this is that Rafa only wants players here who are committed to playing for NUFC, as a good team spirit will be essential for getting promoted. Most of the players we have let go including many of the loans would be a significant cut above the championship but if they don't want to be here then lets get rid. We've lost a significant amount of quality but the players we have want to play for us. Colo had given up on NUFC by the end of last season (I personally think it may be to do with how Jonas was treated here). I do think some of the players we've loaned out such as thauvin or saviet (or even tiote in this division) could have been kept but if they didn't want to play for us then I think its sensible to get rid. In some ways it will be nice to have a fresh start with a new squad as the bad atmosphere that has been at the club for the last couple of years, mainly due to miss-management, may be easier to change.

ha! complete rubbish

Knockaert did nowt today Actually, he looked very good None of the Brighton players looked very good. I actually forgot Knockaert was playing until about 60 mins in. That's why I thought he looked good, was dangerous despite his team not playing very well. Apart from one shot against the bar I remember him doing absolutely nothing
-
and a couple of very good crosses. ran out like a mad bastard one point in the first 10 minutes and got completely done but looked good apart from that

Good. Need more of this. Don't agree at all, no matter how awful a player is booing their introduction is not healthy for all parties, does not send the right message to other players. I honestly don't have too many issues with his current role at the club which seems to be a player we play occasionally, he's not a guaranteed starter anymore and we should be thankful to Rafa for that. If some stupid club come in for him before the window closes, we naturally should snap their hands off but we would be woefully short in CM, unless we can get Tiote playing again. totally agree its fucking cringe. Booing players because they're unpopular isn't going to do any good.

2-0 up against one of our main promotion rivals and this forum is still so negative

not impressed with this one like. I can see the reasoning but surely we can do better,

Tweet: Seems like the op was to remove the screws in his leg. Never broken my leg before but I'd imagine now that had been done it's mainly a case of re-building muscle fitness?
-
What does that even mean in practice? Suddenly we're going to magically start signing all these FM wonderkids no one has ever heard of? Hopefully we will only be in this league for one season. It often takes foreign players a while to adapt to english football (and given the physicality of the Championship this may be even harder), and our most important concern has to be this season and promotion. Signing foreign players for the Championship who may need time to adapt doesn't seem like a great strategy if we're planning to only be in this division for one season. last season Judge had a combined total of 26 goals/assists in 38 games. From midfield he was the joint 12th top scorer last season, he had the highest number of assists and was 3rd in the combined goals/assists table behind Andre Gray and Ross McCormack. The season before he only scored 3 goals but had 15 assists which is still impressive. In terms of Championship pedigree he has more proven experience than Knockeart but as previously mentioned they would never sell him to us in a million years. Broken leg is a concern but if the medical staff are content he will be back to fitness soonish then he will be a good signing.

Pure guesswork and speculation from Douglas. Can't see that happening. "Free role behind the striker " is what Brentford fans are saying Just can't see him being given that role in Rafa's system, TBH. I don't mind the signing. Could potentially be like Routledge for us last time. Where he helped us annihilate teams in the second half of the season. I think he'll probably be competing with Gayle/Aarons at LW and Diame at AM if we play a 433.
-
May I ask why? He doesn't seem anything like Rob Lee, to me? He looks like a tricky, pacey winger and he is tiny. Well in his highlights reel there were a good few goals which involved running at players through the middle and he can hit it from outside the box. He seems to have played last season more as an AM than as a winger. Good control of the ball as well.
-
Question marks over his injury but I like him. Seems to have been played by Brentford as either a AM or a right footed left winger. Seems like a Newcastle player. Reminds me a little of Rob Lee actually.
-
rather we got the money at this point to be honest
-
Just looking at goals/assists he seems decent. Better goals/assists to games ratio than Knockeart last season in an inferior team. Think he would start when fit
-
Crumpy's been here ages like. As has TCD who speaks more sense than most of the hysterical loonytoons on here
-
the funny thing is the first one is bad, and then you see the other two and realise its actually the best of the three. It's like he's having a sulk and trying to cost them the game
