You know this thing about the "top 6"? I dont really get it when it comes to some of the teams. If I use Tottenham as my key example, they havent always been at the top of the table during our PL history so all that should happen is we replace them as part of this top 6. Man city were up and down until they got a sheikh. So what is the big deal with us being up amongst the contenders? It cant be a North/South thing as Liverpool and the two mancs are from the north west so what's the problem with us? Why are we specifically not allowed nice things?

Personally I think it if it was 100% dead in the water we would have a leak from somewhere saying so or even a statement from seller/club/buyer. But we have had a statement from the buyer. They stated "we have come to the decision to withdraw our interest in acquiring Newcastle United Football Club". I don't see how much more explicit they could be? This hasn't actually been made public. What's been made public is that Ashley has engaged QCs to potentially pursue the Premier League over the legitimacy of their non-approval of the takeover. These are two very, very different things. The latter does not require the consortium to still be involved or interested. Again, there's been absolutely nothing to suggest that the Saudis are still interested or pursuing this. Genuinely not a single morsel of evidence. The takeover attempt no longer exists, and there's no good reason beyond blind optimism to think otherwise. IMTTS =Is Mightier Than The Sword? Can't imagine who this is.

From what I can tell from FB posts from pals in Morecambe, there seems to be a lot of unrest behind the scenes so this may have some effect on the playing staff.

I reckon Ashley would do a good Ted DiBiase if he grew his hair out and got a bit of a goatee going on, if I was him I'd do it for shits n giggles At least wear the suit to court. Ted DiBiase was one of my absolute favourites growing up. It would be apt for ashley to ruin that too. That said, I am for once very much behind him. Take those premier league pricks to the fucking cleaners.

If this hasn't been mentioned as a pet hate already then; Pundits and commentators on who do absolutely no research whatsoever. It's obvious when they're phoning it in because they have a guaranteed TV slot regurgitating the same trite nonsense. And it's not just the current "Bruce is fucking mint, you're damn lucky to have him" bollocks we have to put up with, but generally across the board. If it's meant to spawn talksportesque like controversy then surely to stand out then surely you do the opposite now and actually be a professional. I know, there are exceptions. It's not insightful nor entertaining. We are in an age where we have search engines FFS. Use them.

I know you're wrong. Because someone told Caulkin, who told someone your missus works with, who told you? Hearing things first hand from No Red Flags George has proved to be absolutely worthless, so not sure 3rd/4th/5th-hand info is grounds to be confident. I'm that confident that it'll go through, I bet your account on it. IP ban for the loser? The Staveley/Reubens/PIF consortium acquire control of NUFC by, what, 30/09/2020? And Penn's reign of terror comes to a swift end. Or they don't and ITK Rocker is banished forever? NO account on a pole match FUCK YES!!!

Read the email with Staveley's comments and was a tad underwhelmed like. "Thanks for the support but no confirmation of whether we are continuing the fight. Cheers though" I get the points about not revealing her strategy and I like her, but that statement is like the generic email you'd receive for 25 years service at a company.

Thing is, the PL have a way out of this by saying they just havent completed the checks yet but it will be done by X date. On this date, they say it can go through. A little bit of annoyance about transfers but otherwise we are free of ashley. This is of course if PIF havent actually withdrawn the bid. The silence will do the PL no favours long term and just invites intervention into their shadiness. Current silence and delay of responding could be used to delete emails/shred documents too.

1 thing 2020 has taught me is that you can just ignore an issue and it will go away. Aye. Particularly for the Tories, their donors, and other large corporations. Cunts. Noticed this for a few years now. Where once people and companies would be held accountable for their general awfulness which would result in resignations, firings and promises of improvement we now are at a point where those in power can simply ignore the people and carry on with their evil ways. Who can touch them? No one. No one has the stones or the public platform to do anything and it's getting worse. Some absolute bellwhiffs then for some reason defend these feather nesting fuckers, be it a rhys mogg fan club or the simps who suck off gaming companies for shady practices that hurt the consumer. it makes no fucking sense. If there were something in place that stopped exploitation then the bootlickers would benefit just like normal people. But no, the people who control the media successfully whip the stupid into a frenzy against folk who want to do good and I am unsure of a way to stop this. It's just crazy. Sorry for the off topic rant but it really fucks me off. So, takeover stuff etc. Does this Mauriss bloke exist?

I can't help but note that in this report (and when they first reported it) they totally completely skip over that the PL are being called corrupt by fans, that that hashtag is trending, and why it is felt that they are corrupt. Can't put it down to libel either as all they would be reporting on is what is being posted. I love the BBC, but this is just lip service. That's because we may think it is but until its legally proven to be the BBC would leave themselves open to a libellous law suite Don't think so. It's not repeating what was said, it's reporting on what people are saying. As long as they make that clear. Plus, they could even say something as innocuous as "many fans have taken to twitter, flooding every PL tweet with their thoughts". You're right in that this part of libel law is a grey area, but there will be ways and means around it. Or just ignore it outright as they have done. I havent studied American law in any great depth, but I think that you can sue for that there, but not under UK law. Which brings the question of it being an internationally renowned organisation (the BBC) that can be viewed all around the world, so there could be implications there. Alas, this is as much as I can remember from Uni and laws tend to change, depending on legislation, verdicts and appeals so you could be right. EDIT: just seen Greg's response and wanted to say that I loved the wording on your statement. Top class work by NUST, as per.

They are totally asking for it which is why I am thinking the social media person wants to keep this going, maybe because they're a Newcastle fan, they think the PL is corrupt or they just hate masters. And they can feign total innocence in the process if anyone from on high asks them about it. Keep it up social media person!
