New iteration of The Four Horsemen?
-
Just googled him and yes, that's him! Thank you

I have a question. I was watching this match in a bar (so no sound on) and I was quite a distance from the screen so that I couldn't read names. Who was the Forest player who had the black pompadour, reminiscent of Butthead from the 90's cartoon Beavis and Butthead? Whilst I know our players, the ashley years dissolved my love of football so I literally know very few players from other teams these days. Getting better though.

Just as an aside, I'm genuinely enjoying the sensible and reasoned discourse going on on this thread. I love this forum.

I'm a massive Inter Madrid fan.

I have no doubts that Mourinho is a great manager, but for me he is great in only two places; 1) chelsea 2) abroad Respect for what he's achieved but I don't want him here.

I have always been a massive advocate of Eddie Howe and still want him to stay, but I want him to learn. I know he's capable of it, he talked about how he improved his game before he came to us, I just wish he would show it. I was all for defending him based on the point that he doesn't have the time on the training pitch. He always gets the best out of players when he gets to mold them into his system. I also get that we were gazumped time and time again by the sky six over signings so we were way down the list and forced to pick up 4th choicers at premium prices. But it's not just that aspect that he should be judged on. I was watching some of our Youtube channels last night to get a wider view of why the split on Howe is there. Sadly, the Toon Review is now basically the main one just echoing the views of his darling chest scat aficionado mate and, whilst I enjoy Billy, with no balanced view from the Statto one it's just a chore to watch. That Adam bloke is a joke so skipped him, but watched the Geordie Journos and then a bloke called The Noise who has always been super balanced (he explained why Woltermade was the logical choice to play midfield when we had a shortage of players there for example). He pretty much pointed out the stuff that was obviously there but for some reason (maybe my Eddie fanboying) I hadn't really appreciated or acknowledged and that's his in game management. He called out use of the "Eddie Time" subs, the lack of a change of plan, the unwillingness to change, the putting on subs with less than 5 minutes to effect a game, subbing off players who could be on a ban if they get booked and a few other things. I just don't get why he is refusing to learn or try new things. I really want him to stay but the amount of disappointing results and our league position, combined with my acknowledging the other issues, is making it very hard to keep backing him. He has worked wonders for us and I would love him to be our alex ferguson but he needs to start learning and take risks in doing things differently. This season has been a write off in terms of 4th choice signings, poor league position, damn unlucky cup draws, agents stirring up shit, no training time and bad luck in general and I think this has had a knock on effect on everyone. We just haven't been able to catch a break. I want him here next season, and I think he deserves it, but he has a lot to work on in himself as well as the team.

Is he the player whose mam is his agent and she's a total pain in the arse?

It's ok, but it's no Wolf Cola.

I think you may be my second favourite poster on this board after this list and the proposed trade off. I'd maybe swap sketchers for, say, animal cruelty but otherwise that's a list I'd be proud of.

There are some players I have been mortally embarrassed that we signed. He is a well deserved second on my list.

We are Newcastle UNITED for a reason. We actually feel united. The players seem there for each other, the fan base are experiencing unexpected highs after the years of hell under ashley and the genuine sensible ones realise that this is a really good period for us even if this season is shockingly hit and miss. I don't want rid of Gordon and I was super proud when Elanga got cheered. I love us being the supportive club. I think that might be a huge thing for keeping our best players and getting the best out of them. I'm not saying folks can't criticise when things are obviously wrong but let's not forget where we were with no hope and no future. Now we can dare to dream, even if some of our performances have been less than spectacular and we keep getting outbid for players who would make a real difference to us. I forget my point, but I love this club and love that we've got into the position we're in.

This is fucking disgusting. The language used here is appalling. "legend" FFS when he was no more than a bit part midfielder brought in when their actual players needed a rest. Rancide behaviour!

Absofuckingloutly not!!!

You're all talking about the team tonight but I can't see what it is. Which post shows it? I've been back to page 6 and can only see some hideous mash up type team.
-
Saw on some shitty supposed Newcastle related FB page that we are considering zouma. They can fuck right off with that, my vote in the Eddie Howe poll will be straight into "Eddie Out" if that ever happened.

I thought we did as well as we could do. We seemed to have the players we wanted lined up, but shitarse wanker teams like chelsea, liverpool and even fucking man u seemed to gazump us every single fucking time, leaving us with with the only options of buying squad players at high prices out of desperation. I doubt Thaiw was our first choice but we have very much got lucky with him. Wissa I had no problem being our Wilson replacement. I thought Woltermade was a nice suprise. I was beyond meh with Ramsdale, obvious we were scraping as Trafford went back to man city. Ramsey was just bulking out our midfield. Elanga I had high hopes for, even though he was second or third choice on the list after but then the isak shit happened and I don't know if that also fucked his confidence. But everything we did it just seemed the sky six were just trying to fuck us over. liverpool didn't fucking need Ekitike if they were wanting isak sooooo badly, man u didn't really want sesko until we bid for him, chelsea just hoovered up everyone else we wanted. Yeah, it hasn't worked out really so far as we are so stop/start it's beyond frustrating. Eddie actually trains the players (unlike some scummy fat frauds we've had) in both fitness and tactics. He hasn't had that chance because the games come thick and fast so he does have to rely on the old predictable tactics. He hasn't been able to work the players in and they are in turn trying to rely on what worked for them best at their old clubs, which doesn't always work for us. Eddie really doesn't help himself though when he does try to shoehorn in his favorites in (I'm completely expecting 5 at the back when Burn is fully fit). I hated it when Keegan used to do this too. We did the best we could in circumstances that worked against us either on purpose or just because fate dealt us a shit hand. It's hard to not be frustrated when we lose to west ham, brentford, man u and draw at fucking wolves when we know we could and should be better. It's not being entitled, just bitterly disappointing when we know how much better we can be. 5/10

Currently in Birmingham on a course today. Checked the score when I was finished, absolutely pissed off that I'm going to have to keep my accent down when I'm having a quick half in whatever shitehole pub I can find. Fuck sake.

It's his name. He's got the same last name as a former outfield player of ours. That's it. If he was Mark Gervais or Mark Wheatley or Mark Harper or even Mark Anythingbaroneofourformeroutfieldplayers I wouldn't dislike him so much. Well, unless it was double barreled, then he can fuck right off. I can't help it, it's just an irrational pet hate of mine.
-
You're not fucking kidding! 😂 Anyway, I feel I'm detracting from the myriad of signings we're not making
-
Just because he's a goalkeeper. If he was a right back rather than a goalkeeper then I'd be fine. I have no objection to the first name/last name situation you propose. Other one is silly names like butt. Hate it when we are linked with someone with a silly sounding name.

Pisses me off this like, he's my second most disliked keeper after rob elliot.
