I have a soft spot for keepers so I'm actually beaming with pride for Karius. Just saw a video where the Mancs cunts kept the ball and jeering him and he just calmly waits for it and not retaliate. True pro and glad he was able to makes good, decent stops and ensure the scores were kept low. Great lad.
That was right in front of me, I was livid. Was jeered all game whenever he took a gk and didn't let it phase him.

Cittie of York pub in Holborn is canny for a Sam Smiths. Was planning on maybe nipping in on Saturday if it's still there.
I work close to there and it still is a very good pub. Holborn will be dead on a Saturday though.

How are where are you buying Club Wembley tickets? I was told you had to commit to a 3 year membership of Wembley to do that, at £2,000 a year!

Jan 2014: Yohan Cabaye -> PSG £18m (should have been higher, possibly)
Jan 2011: Andy Carroll -> Liverpool £35MSome of those players went on crazy inflation due to their unexpected form. Merino in hindsight is poor return. Thauvin would have been as well, too bad he wasn't up for it.
In comparison to? It's not been great, but I personally wouldn't say pathetic. That's Sunderland or Everton territory.
Everton have loads:
- 2022 Richarlison 60m
- 2023 Gordon 45m
- 2021 Digne 25m
- 2019 Vlasic 14m
- 2019 Lookman 18m
- 2019 Gueye 30m
- 2018 Klaasen 18m
- 2017 Lukaku 75m
- 2017 Deloefeu 10m
= 2017 Barkley 15m
- 2016 - Stones 45m
And that's just going back to 2016.

If Willock and Wilson are out, how do we think we'll line up? 4-3-3 like normal and putting a massive about of faith in Anderson to fill that gap, or change to 4-2-3-1, with Gordon in the number 10 role?
I don't see how we can start Anderson - Gordon in as a number 10 but instructed to sit deeper and press I'd imagine.

I don’t think any club is arrogant enough to confirm Cup Final ticket criteria before it’s reached the final. Maybe I’m wrong and there are those that do?
If you are ever hoping to get a cup final ticket you should always be in the mindset of giving yourself the best chance and not wait on others to. So if you’ve a ST for example and not used it to buy your seats for earlier games you were always running a risk and going forward you will know that risk is real.
Nailed it on both points.

Not really, it'd just be transparent given they've not achieved this for what...18 years (a trip to a neutral stadium). There's a while generation of fans that wouldn't have had a clue...
Well exactly, so why on earth would the club be able to predict that we would have reached a final last summer when we haven't for 18 years

hope people dont start buying cup tickets just in the hope we get to a final.
at least pass them on to someone who can attend otherwise gonna have empty seats.
That's the potential big problem. The atmosphere wasn't great at all the cup games I went to tbh, this could make it even worse.

Off the top of my head, we've scored:
Direct free kick v Man City (Trippier)
Corner v Brentford (Bruno)
Corner v Villa (Wilson)
Corner v Leicester (Big Joe)
Then Botman hit the post v Fulham, leading to a top in for Longstaff.
Wood v Tranmere as well

But the period seven ballot winner didn't!
Let's just leave this, mate. I don't blame anybody for trying to get a ticket whatever their circumstances, and I'm happy for those that did. As I say, I have learnt my lesson about buying cup tickets in the future.
Yeah I agree, just re-iterating the point that while it's unfair, the ST holder didn't need to be put in that situation because they could have made sure they were in pot 3 and therefore not even in the ballot.
But it was always going to be a shitter, sorry you couldn't get tickets (nor could I), will be proud to see the stadium and surrounding areas full of black and white regardless.

Is that right? I don't recall attendance in a particular tournament ever being a determining factor for cup final tickets. I'm not saying that shouldn't be the case, but I don't remember this being the case before. Nor was it publicised.
My biggest issue is that club never made the criteria clear - doing so would have saved a lot of annoyance.
It would be very odd for the club to release a statement at the start of the season saying I know we are in a second round game v Tranmere, but if we get to a cup final in 6 months time this will be the ticket allocation process
Liverpool Chelsea and several other clubs have done it this way over the last few years.

So, a member that went to those games get the ticket that the season ticket holder does? Okay, I don't agree with it, but it's workable.
The scenario is described is unfair though.
I agree it's unfair. But the member went to the less attractive games and supported the club in that competition when the ST holder chose not to go. You can see the logic.
I'm just saying all ST's holders had the chance to avoid this by going to the cup games.

yes but the rules were set after we'd reached the final. so thats not neccessarily accurate.
See my post above on this. If you couldn't make 3 league cup games why complain if you don't get to go to the final?

Just now, huss9 said:
no they didnt.
Yes they did, by attending 3 league cup matches.

It's unfair because a member who attended one league cup game could have got a ticket ahead of a season ticket holder who went to two. It's happened, I won't make the same mistake again when buying tickets during a cup run and I hope everybody has a cracking day, but it is objectively unfair.
And if the season ticket holder had gone to three games they would have got a ticket no questions asked. There's a history of cup attendances being taken into account for cup final allocations. Given how insane everyone knew the demand would be I genuinely don't think there's cause for complaint if you didn't go to 3 of Bournemouth, Palace, Leicester and Southampton.

I don't understand the constant use of this line. Of course somebody will lose out. The point is that, in this case, a section of those that have lost out have done so unnecessarily and unfairly. It's not 'whatever happens', it's 'whatever did happen in this specific case'.
Again, why is it unfair? Any season ticket holder who wanted to go had the change to guarantee themselves a ticket.
-
I’m not sure how anyone in P4 can complain tbh when they had the opportunity to guarantee themselves a ticket by going to more games.
-
Always going to be people disappointed. I think it’s great that STs don’t have priority for everything and that there’s a chance for members to get a ticket.
otherwise all those who applied for a ST in the summer and failed faced being locked out of all games indefinitely.
There’s still a vastly reduced chance of getting a ticket if you’re only a member but seems fair to me to open up a small amount to them.
-
Did we ever get confirmation as to whether the lower ballots would get allocated any tickets if ballot 4 etc got sold out?

Goal conceded from a corner near post flick on, far post tap in for the second consecutive game.
we should go 4231. Get Wilson on and one of those midfielders out.
You’d have a hard job getting Wilson down from Newcastle in time.

Eh?
A lot of our fans didn’t go to his stores because SD was sucking money out of the club, not the other way around.
Right now I still hate Ashley for what he did to our club, but I’m not as inclined to omit his stores as I used too, although it’s worth noting that for the majority of what he sells, it’s a case of you get what you pay for.
