Holy fucking shit
I have never, repeat never, seen that at an NUFC home game…let alone an away game. This is bonkers.
I’m sorry like. The Club can absolutely get to fuck on ticketing.
So am I missing something - how did those day trippers get tickets? -

Are CL fixtures usually symmetrical like this? Noticed the other groups are too.
They were when we last played in it. Dortmund will be our Bayer Leverkusen. Two straight wins setting us up for our glorious final game v Milan needing a win to see us through. Scrape a point v PSG in one of the games
-
What are the chances of getting a ticket for a home game as a member? Close to zero?

The only thing that makes me doubt that is Howe’s preference for inverted wingers, does he see Gordon as two footed and able to play on right, time will tell.
If not then Barnes is the signing with a question mark against it for me.
I think that's part of the reason we wanted Gordon, he can play LW, RW and CF. I think he's already played in those three positions for us.

The only criticism there can be if any this summer is that we’ve signed 3 players, who don’t at first glance seem a shoe in for the 1st team. They’ve clearly prioritised bringing the age down and strengthening squad.
We possibly will pay for that this season but Rome wasn’t built in a day.
I think Barnes was considered a shoe in but Gordon has started the season brilliantly. It's a nice problem to have.

Yes, dreadful cities. Paris is a notorious dump and Milan is like the Sunderland of Italy. No culture, ghastly food and lots of the people there can't even speak English.
You know there are large areas of Paris, in particular around the stadium that are indeed absolute dumps and quite unsafe to boot?
Milan has fantastic shopping, great food but not much else in the way of nightlife. Have you been to either?

Someone said it was shite?
The area itself is shite but Cologne and Dusseldorf are 30 mins away which are absolutely class

Without wanting to put a dampener on things, Paris and Milan will be two crap away days outside of the games themselves. Terrible cities for football.
Dortmund is so good though

According to the Euro Club Index the following group would be the toughest: (4), Real Madrid (2), AC Milan (15) and Newcastle (17).
That is mental reading that
Only 3 clubs, can't be that hard to qualify.

Ooooff that's a headshot

Endlessly signing players again.
The big Greek lad is doing what any of us would do given the transfer fax machine for our clubs, just spaffing money everywhere.
He's having the time of his life.
It's going to end badly when they invariably go down, mind.
They've signed less players than us this window.

So he's took out his 19 year old brother and a friend for a night out. The brother gets a cheap shot to the throat as they are leaving and his friend is knocked unconscious and Lascelles is somehow to blame for anything?
This - absolutely mental takes from some people in here

Its not professional in this day and age .
Do you genuinely expect a group of mid 20s professionals not to go out and enjoy themselves in town and just stay in the house for the entirety of their professional career?

Sounds like he ran himself into the ground last season and we were lucky he held out until the second last game.

Did Ashley sign him up to a 5 year mega deal?
How long has he got left with us ?
Only one more season after this one.

Don't know in detail what you guys are discussing as I'm just jumping in on the last page but....
He's been here almost 7 months.
He's had a longer "pre-season" than anyone else in our squad by playing regularly and reaching the final in the U21 Euros.
Those two points you make are simply not valid.
And he's barely played in those 7 months. He's now starting games regularly and can be judged accordingly.

You sign players…. For a squad. You judge a window by how it improves the squad.
The ones I said.
we have 3 left backs and I none of them would start for any other top 6 team. Liverpool will be targeting Burn (and Trips tbf) - he’s a weak spot in the team. Targett isn’t fancied and should be sold and Hall is 18. I would love for Hall to cement his spot in the team come September but I don’t expect it. We’re playing the long game which makes sense but on the pitch it’s a weakness.
I could go on. You might be happy with Almiron Murphy Barnes and Gordon but I think that’s weak for the level we want.
Howe is a miracle worker and we have a functional team unit and squad. If we finish 4th or get in the CL it’s another miracle job. There’s a lack of quality in some areas and a lack of depth in other crucial areas. But overall we are a stronger squad this season than last and are well setup going forward.
This is where we are on this forum. People a bit annoyed if you rate a window as 7 out of 10. That’s good. That’s progress. But a slight hint that things could be a little better and it rubs people the wrong way.
You didn't give a 'slight hint that things could be a little better', you said there were 'glaring gaps' in our squad when that clearly isn't the case. It just comes across as hysterical exaggeration and a reason why our fans get so much stick.
There's room for improvement at RW and LB no doubt, but you could say that about every team in the league in certain positions. I find it hard to believe people still see Burn as an incapable defender when he was a key part of the best defence in the league last year.

A 10 is a perfect window right? It’s not perfect there’s glaring gaps in the squad.
I’ve given it a 7 because it’s all good solid transfers that will benefit us in the long term.
Where are these 'glaring gaps in the squad' ffs. It's clearly not at LB because we have three of them with a blend of youth and experience. At RW we have Almiron who came off a brilliant season, Gordon who is looking better and better and Murphy.
Glaring gaps

Would it be a risk to stick with the same team for two weeks in a row? Fixtures for my players are favourable, and I can't think of anyone I particularly want to bring in. So tempted to save the free transfer.
No, and pretty much all the experts say that's exactly what you should do if there aren't any glaring problems.
On a related note, I can't decide whether to take a four point hit to bring in Salah and a defender at the expense of Rashford and TAA...

We’ve each got our own values and the difference isn’t critical; such as between having enough money for the rest of your life, or not having enough money for the rest of your life. It is just robbing a living where you’re not needed or wanted vs. recouping less but actually earning a living by doing what you’re good at. Personally, I think he’d find it a lot easier to look at himself in the mirror with the latter approach to his ‘career’.
It's not robbing a living at all. The club voluntarily offered him a contract and he accepted it. It works both ways.
A quick google suggests he's on 60k a week - £3.2 million a year. The idea that just because he is already very well off he should forfeit £6.4 million pounds (obviously he'd be paid at a champ club, but much less), is laughable. You wouldn't do that with your employer so don't expect him to.

Don’t blame him at all for sitting.
We’ll do good to get 50% of his wages off for this season.
Problem with these lot. They’ve not contributed a lot to any team in a good few years.
This. The lad calling him 'shameful' for not voluntarily forfeiting millions of pounds ffs

Could someone summarise what the club has changed? I've missed all of the last couple of days

But all of those options were available last season (arguably more so with ticket resale having less restrictions) - so I’m struggling to see the issue?
