We need a creative midfielder, we can't keep going with the flat 3 we currenly have I don't think for too much longer

I don't think we do once the two Joes are back in. We have no problem with scoring goals atm.

I like Smith-Rowe, but the fee required to get him wouldn’t make sense for us imo.

This. I think the only real gap we have long term now is a top class RW to compete with Miggy. Shouldn't really be spending anything else on the midfield atm.

It's nice to see we're a couple of points ahead of where we were last season, that's promising considering how many games we've lost already.

Problem is we'll need to go more than just a couple of points better to get anywhere near top 4. With Spurs, Liverpool, Villa, Brighton, West Ham all doing considerablely better than last year I can't see any scenario where 71pts gets 4th spot.

It's a bit of a stretch to assume all of those teams will continue to do that well - especially Villa and West Ham. Are Brighton even doing that much better than last year as well? It also ignores the fact that Man U are looking worse.

Out of all the players we have he’s the one who could become elite , he should always be playing if he’s fit  as should Wilson, still yet to hear a convincing argument as to why they can’t both be on the pitch at the same time .

Because we've played both together before and Isak looks lost at LW?

I like his aggression and his strength but I honestly believe Miley would perform better. Maybe not in games like tonight as the occasion is huge, but Sheff Utd for example would rather see Miley as a sub appearance over Anderson.

He was fucking brilliant pre season though so he deserved his chance.

How on earth can you form a view on Miley

Great first half against Liverpool, I'm not sure what else he has done of note?

A goal and two assists puts up pretty much at the top of our creative stats so far this season.

I mean, sure he shouldn't be fatigued, but I don't really think you get to decide whether he is or isn't fatigued. Him not playing at the weekend should've helped, sure, but he's not a robot. People get fatigued for all manner of reasons.

True, but you can't just explain away constant bad passes and a lack of tracking back to fatigue every time either.

Nowhere near as bad as people are saying, Milan marked him brilliantly and forced him to come very deep to even get the ball.

We just don't have a creative bone in our midfield either, which doesn't help.

Howe leaving him on 15 minutes too long makes him look even worse, he was dead on his feet.

He was an absolute liability in the last 15 and I don’t think he can blame fatigue when he didn’t start at the weekend.

Emails don't get delivered instantly because it triggers spam rules in ISPs etc.  :milner:

But they should've sent this email out days ago to be received by today.  Amateurs.

I mean again, while it looks a bit sloppy it makes no difference if you get your email 30 mins after the ballot opens. You have 3 days to apply.

The argument is that the ‘type’ of people who are ending up with the tickets has changed.

It’s an emotive argument because you start getting into the territory of who’s the ‘better’ supporter etc. and who ‘deserves’ a ticket more blah blah

And, I’m not stating any of this as fact because I/we don’t really know exactly what caused the empty seats / different type of supporters at Brighton.

Ah I see what you mean now, cheers.

In which case I’d say that falls into ‘who is the more deserving supporter’ debate, and when both ‘types’ of fan have zero points it’s difficult to complain about you and your mates not getting any because as you say they view themselves as ‘better’ fans.

    The ballot option wasn’t available.

The argument would probably be that people with higher points are now reluctant to pass them on to anyone, so the ‘networks’ that people have built up, and allowed them to become regular away followers have been taken away.

The theory being that people with lower points, will buy tickets and just sell them on to anyone, as they are desperate to build points.

All just supposition like, and the people in the pic might have got tickets perfectly legitimately.

That doesn’t seem to have changed at all then [emoji38]

So some people with high points are less likely to sell on their tickets (whereas last season people with no points could get tickets from their high point mates).

And now those with low points are buying tickets just to sell on and boost their points (so those same people with no points can still buy tickets from those people).

    So what has changed?
