  1. I know Emery is a proper good manager, but that high line is what you see a Sunday Park team do, it's suicidal. Good teams, in fact average teams will play through that with deep runners.
  2. Love how Eddie doesn't blame the new system, such a good manager.
  3. We're experimenting with a different system, if you are going to try that now is the time. Nowt to worry about imo, pre season is about fitness and getting games into players legs, and trying said new things.
  4. Van Hecke, what a absolute moron
  5. The font of truth wiki says 6ft on the button.
  6. That's true, it's the weird criticism of posters who rather like ASM, unjustified criticism imo.
  7. Or as Alberto2005 just explained, damn slow typer me like
  8. You sell ASM, only sell for the cash in one hit, say £30m. You buy Barnes but spread his fee across 5 years on our accounts, so £30m is only £6m a year on our FFP total. I see that reported a lot so i'm guessing that would be the thinking. That's probably too simplistic or as you say one sale to buy another with no effect on FFP would make no sense, unless Howe thinks Barnes is far superior. Or what i said is just nonsense.
  9. Well the injuries did happen for the Chelsea game, and we played the same way but with Bruno, Anderson and Gordon in the middle. Changing from the 4-3-3 is something Eddie has shown he none too keen to switch from, and why would he the results speak for themselves. I don't doubt he'd do something when needed, but 4-3-3 is the default at the moment, and it don't half suit us like.
  10. I express gratitude to myself and Mrs B as we work feckin hard for what's on offer in our home, no devine intervention, just pure elbow grease. As you say that work for us, literally.
  11. Yeah but that was thanking God and that imaginary twat had nothing to do with why food was on the table.
  12. The only decent thing he did was in the Stoke away game, when were ahead late in the game we kept using the towels to dry the ball, for us it was about wasting time. They complained and I remember Dean shrugging his shoulders and saying something along the lines ' well you used them'.
  13. Well we wouldn't as the front line is Lewis-ASM-Manq, should have scored a hatful with those 3 up top
  14. Come on Eddie get Hackett and Turner-Cooke on ffs.

    Harvey Barnes

Fair point, i don't think we'll be in the business of selling our best players as a tactic say, which seems to be the thrust of the conversation. However at some point we will sell one of our better players, every club does even the biggest. Now if that's because of an offer so good you can't turn it down, as disappointing as that will be you know this club will now put that money back into the team. Or for the players dream move as you've mentioned. I suppose Andy Cole being a good example of where KK saw that opportunity to sell to evolve, obviously things are a tad different now but the crux of it is along those lines for me, selling for a reason, and for us in the coming years that we'll be our evolution imo.

Are you being a bit pedantic like ? I'm looking back and i can't find a post that says we will have to sell for no real reason in the near future (apologises if i've missed it). Looks to me like people are describing a plethora of decisions that we might sell in the future, a player wants to move for a new challenge, our manager falls out with a player, or we get an offer we can't refuse, and that money goes back into the team to reinvest, to evolve etc. Personally I'm of the opinion that we're all over thinking things as we see a fantastic future, one rather alien to us for such a long time so we're getting a bit ahead of ourselves. I myself would rather live in the moment and not look too far ahead, it's been so so long waiting to finally enjoy the football club again, I'm going to do that for a bit like.
  17. As a player who's settled overseas himself, and is our most senior player, he was probably asked to be there. We just can't get our head around just how professional we're now run, added to the way Eddie has the squad looking after and out for each other. It's amazing how far we've come in such a short space of time. This is our club now

I don't think we're going to sell ASM for instance, we know we need another forward and i doubt we'll be able to buy one after Tonali and Barnes (if we sign him). I reckon ASM, Joel and Gordon offer options as back strikers, deep forwards or whatever, using them when needed saving us buying a striker to back up Isak and Wilson. Just a hunch like, but that scenario gives plenty of cover on both wings and cover up top. Eddie can mix and match as he see fits.
  19. Can't spread the deal for more than 5 years now, so £60m would be £12m a year for the 5 years. Iirc.
  20. The fella in the white shirt in the video greeting Tonali, he appears in all the photo's when we win, is he security or something ? He's defo living his best life whatever his job is
  21. I much prefer this way. The journo's know feck all and just guess or spread whatever dumb rumour they've heard or made up, and as frustrating as it is to not hear much, i like the approach giving nowt away. You can be certain Ashworth and the rest are working hard to bring players in, and not just for numbers. It's not just a position we look for, it's the players personality, the no dickhead rule is a major factor in our recruitment. I love the way we do things now, even if it's slower and you hear very little on whom we may be after.
