The inconsistency is what did my head in, Bruno getting carded for simulation but Harrison diving in the box gets nothing, handball in the box deserving a second yellow, but not given, studs up challenge that should've been a straight through red given only a yellow, instead he gave more cards out for walking off the field slowly then for fouls.

I like that we're not in Leeds position this season and worried about being relegated. I would've snapped your fingers off for for 5th at the start of the season, and will be happy with it now still. Fact is we're still in 3rd and we've 2 home games left to go, this season is a resounding success, even with the odd few games. One thing we need to remember is we have a small squad, with a style of football that's incredibly intense for alot of the season, tired legs at this point shouldn't be surprising, next season i can see investment to help get more depth that will be essential

I did say it'd still be an amazing season, but this thread really is bringing out the pessimist in all of uswait until next year when we're stressing about being 4 points away from top of the table!

At this point, even if we finish 5th it's still an amazing season, but the concern for me would be the psychological impact on the team, losing so many points in such a short period of time at such a crucial part of the season, how do they go into the office season, hows the moral. I'm sure Howe will be able to steady it all, but there's definitely elements of the fans that would be vocal about how they feel after a poor run of 5 games that it would take. And again, 5th would still be an absolutely amazing achievement considering most had a goal of top 10 at the start of the season

This is how I've been feeling, kept saying I wouldn't feel confident until after the next weekends result, realised I won't feel comfortable until it's a mathematical certainty. Much rather this concern then looking for points to avoid the drop though

I'm as paranoid as the next person about us missing the champions league at this point of the season, but the gap between us and 5th is bigger then the gap between us and 2nd and I don't think arsenal are sitting there worried about us over taking them with the number of games left. For liverpool they will need to win all their remaining games, I can't see them winning 9 in a row, even with their fixtures remaining, and for us to lose more games then we've lost in the rest of the season combined. While it's entirely possible, it's not likely at all. I'll still not feel comfortable until we've got it confirmed mathematically though, which i think will be when we play Brighton at home.
