Roma v Leverkusen for me. Bit of #scouting of Diaby.
-
Win on Saturday and we only need 4 points from 2 back to back home matches. Got the jitters about Saturday for no real justifiable reason though.

Without wanting to make it sound like an insult to him as I really like him but it's mad how even bloody YouTubers like James Allcott are far better than pundits these days. That lot on BT, fuck me. Awful. Humphrey gets a pass from a few of our fans because he did to be fair get it spot on regarding Ashley, but I've always thought he's always been absolutely desperate to be liked. At times he's too far up our hoop to the point where it gets cringe. All of the apparently flagship pundits on there are terrible, I'd never go out of my way to listen what they have to say about a specific match, bit of play or just the game in general. Whereas if Carragher was doing a section of MNF on us I'd 9 times out of 10 tune in. They have people there as well that they just don't use. I'm not a huge fan of James Horncastle as I think he's a bit holier-than-thou but he does know his stuff and articulates it well on camera. Just needs a whole revamp.

Don't watch too much CL or EL at all until the latter stages but that'll change next season *touch wood*. Hope the coverage isn't this lifting but I won't hold my breath. BT have the rights to every Serie A match with journalists specialised in Italian football doing the punditry; think they also have European football journalists as the pundits on their CL/EL goals roundup shows but they stick with that triumvirate of doom on commentary and four horsemen of the apocalypse on punditry for an all Italian CL semi final. So shit.

State of Milan. No midfield, just vibes.
-
Hate how much he feels the need to constantly talk. Matterface-esque.
-
Milan are so open its outrageous. Inter look like they're gonna score every time they go forward.
-
Never a pen. Amazed at these morons on BT. "Stonewall" ffs.

James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)
HaydnNUFC replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
Maddison is a quality footballer and seems the perfect kind of character from interviews for what Howe is building here in terms of that no dickhead policy. Been poor for Leicester of late but if it wasn't for him and his form earlier in the season they'd be down already. Great player and I'd love to have him here, though where he fits into our 4-3-3 I don't know. Also unsure whether signing him would scupper a Diaby/Raphinha type deal if we're looking to play him on the right of the attacking 3. -
Doing rainbow flicks, man. Unreal.

Love watching Vini Jr. So good.
-
Just a load of phlegm from him.

"¡Puta madre!" from that fella you can hear on BT.

This somehow came up on the timeline, fuck me we were shit.

Out of interest I looked at what other PL clubs charge for CL tickets. Liverpool charge exactly the same prices for CL as they do for league matches. £53-£59 for the Main Stand/pitchside stands, £37-£48 for the Anfield Road and Kop ends behind the goals. They also only charge juniors £9 for anywhere in the ground. Can't find any info on Man City but I do know some of their fans have had a huge go at the club both this season and last for what they charge for league matches. They were charging ~£70 for a seat in the upper tier in one of the main stands for a rearranged Thursday night game v Spurs in the winter on Sky. Chelsea charge £35 nigh on across the board everywhere in the ground in the group stage, but that almost doubles to £55-£70 depending on where the seat in the ground is in the round of 16. Then it goes up again for the quarters and semis, £65-£76.

Aye. IIRC (may be wrong, I was only 12 ) for the Europa League under Pardew they sold tickets just like how they do for cup matches now, so ST holders only get the 19 league matches but get first dibs on their seat before member sale. Will probably just be that.

Bizarre. The prestige of it or interest in it not there? Just having a quick look at the home gates from .com match reports from 02-03; Feyenoord: 40,540, 1500 away fans Juventus: 48,570, <300 away fans Dynamo Kyiv: 40,185, 150 away fans Inter: 50,108, number of away fans not in report Bayer Leverkusen: 40,508, 200 away fans Barcelona: 51,833, 181 away fans Wasn't just us. Even now fans of clubs from countries that don't really have away fan culture like Spain would bring at least 2k to games in England now surely?
-
Always did find that interesting tbf, there any real reason for that? How were tickets sold and stuff? May have been a weird system. The glamour or pull of the CL I imagine was gone way up since then and like Kanji has said, we're in a situation now where home draws in the early rounds of cups now will sell out easily.

Don't want them back up personally, more than happy seeing them rot in the lower leagues for the foreseeable. Absolutely hate derbies and from now on for us they're lose-lose. We win and its "whey yews should be beating us with all that money and hewmin rights abewses" or we lose and we'd never live it down.
-
I'll be devastated if we miss out on CL now, we'd have thrown it away. Been dreaming most of my conscious Newcastle supporting life of hearing the CL anthem at SJP. The ground from matchday 1 of the group stages would be insane, even more so for two legged knockouts should we get there.
-
Don't think so but it's stressing me out a tad and I'm livid that it is. An early goal or two for us and we win comfortably.
-
We should still win the game but Saturday is going to be disgusting. Low block, long balls, long throws, second balls, all with that tub of lard in the opposition dugout.
-
2017-18, us, Huddersfield and Brighton.

Since promotion in 2017, we've played them 16 times, won 12, lost 1, and scored 28 goals. Those games at the Dell scarred a few I'm guessing.
