  1. Nah, it's around £100m. FFP dictates that over 3 years, you can't have £5m more expenditure than income but even still, and owner can still inject £30m to pull that expenditure back down so it's technically £35m. And, due to Ashley being so tight, our net spend over the last 3 years is relatively small especially compared to other PL clubs.
  2. Bit radgy in here isn't it? I think it's a fair position to feel guilty while still being fairly happy about the takeover. FWIW, I think both celebrating the takeover is slightly similar to the inclusion of Saudi in flags in bios and names on social media while at the same time being the exact polar opposite of each other with the latter not exactly sensitive. I think this is much more down to a celebration of Ashley, a man responsible for 13 year long degradation and suffocation of Newcastle United and it's supporters, pushing many to walking away, turning against fellow fans plus the countless other stuff we all know about, finally selling up. As are the misguided arguments on social media and here. The alternative however, while it may well be a golden ticket to success, is tainted for reasons we all know by know. Attacking journalists who reiterate those reasons does us no good. Nor does posters on here getting into quarrels like this. We all have opinions. Respect them.
  3. Just some bad PR for the Saudis and PL from the Qataris plus the faintest possible hope of scuppering it is my guess. Given that BeIN/Qatar have tried to do this in the past in France where they dominate the sports broadcast industry they have no hope of stopping a deal in the UK worth this amount of money with the potential of it making billions for the PL. Could you explain the maths here - how could the takeover result in billions of pounds more in revenue for the Premier League? Aye. Penn + his posts on Newcastle-Online = a hard drive that needs checking

  5. If that's as bad as it gets I can handle that. They even admit it's a long shot that this will stop a takeover. Same. Today has calmed me down from last night a bit. Well that and the fact the premier league have no interest in blocking it. They want it to go through £$€ True.
  6. So they'll consider blocking it but only if there was a 'water tight way'? Can't see them getting one unless you can tie Al-Rumayyan, Staveley or the Reubens to it, which you can't. Assuming they're the only directors being involved, don't know if MBS will be undergo the owners and director's test too.
  7. Seating Category One £667 (£635) Student Can't remember them offering student STs everywhere in the ground? Thought it was only in the corner above the ambulance exit between the Milburn and Leazes. That price will save me around £150 if I can get mine back but it's still a joke given this season like.
  8. Why does it always have to be so difficult, man. Just announce the fucking takeover, please. Can't bear this shite anymore.
  9. Pochettino's game management is fairly poor iirc.
  10. Good riddance ya bald nonce. Hopefully we bring a top manager in next. ASAP.
  11. Yep. Can't understand the concept that we can be happy that Ashley is finally fucking off and we're going to be run by people with ambition for the club and city while resenting various Saudi policies and acts.
  12. The deflection and whataboutism from a lot of our supporters is getting on my nerves a bit like. "Sheffield United" or "they own your paper" being the main ones. But the suggestion that because our team is Newcastle United we implicitly support what the Saudis do in their country and in their foreign policy is also annoying me. Going to be a hypocrite and use whataboutism myself but those who rightly or wrongly attended matches under Ashley were never criticised from the press and countless others on social media for being implicit in what goes on in his warehouses. While that doesn't compare to Saudi actions and laws, it's still a bit annoying. That Squires comic has proper irritated me, suggesting that fans should walk away from Newcastle United which has been a cornerstone of community in its 127 year (or 114 depending how you view things) existence is drivel; we as fans can't control who buys NUFC, Mike Ashley does. Yet it's the fans who are getting it in the neck.

    Aye, it's utter drivel.
  14. Aye. Would take Grealish, Aarons, but can see us looking abroad for a lot of players in the coming window, whenever that is. Ndidi I love but would players at Leicester come here straight away, especially with probable CL football on the horizon? I doubt it, which is a shame as I'd love Ndidi here and really rate Maddison. Though would prefer Grealish to him.
  15. I voted Rafa in the poll but as the days go by and the more I think about it Allegri is probably my top choice. The guy is a winner both with Milan and Juve, has talked about wanting to manage in England before, is an elite name in football (goes to those UEFA Elite Coaches conferences that Rafa went to) and I think Italian managers are well suited to the PL. The football would probably be better under Pochettino but given Allegri's track record of trophies, albeit in the last 9 years Juventus have pretty much dominated Serie A, is impressive.
  16. You have no idea how much I'd love that. Jizz al owa.
  17. My dad is. Everytime I try to talk about it he just goes 'not happening' but even still he's half joking. I think the thing that has almost banished any thought that it's not happening for me is that it's lawsuit territory if Ashley pulls out of the deal.
