Awesome player. Will take us a few years of relative success post takeover to be able to attract players like him though.

Aye, thought it was a bit of a piss take that the majority of them all left Merson at the hotel while they had a piss up. My respect for Merson went up a lot after watching that though.

It's easy for papers to create player links to us due to the whole charade: big takeover + big player links = more clicks on half arsed articles. Absolutely certain that the overwhelming majority of them are bollocks. In regards to the whole takeover thing, no news is seemingly good news. The silence causing many to drop their arses and go crying to Caulkin, Graves, Downie and Steve fucking Wraith () is canny funny. I've been able to switch off from the whole thing thankfully. Definitely a good thing given the last 50 or so pages of this thread. Utter AIDS.

The bullshit getting spread has made the whole thing boring now, like.

Man, those first few months of that Championship season were fun.

Carbon copy the year prior, 2 years ago today we absolutely stuffed Chelsea on the last day. Awesome day, glorious weather, got absolutely shitfaced post match. Remember blasting Some Might Say on the way to the game so I now associate that song with that day. Brilliant. Should've been 5 or 6-0. But rAfA iS bOrInG

0-4 win at Fulham was a year ago today. Rafa's last game in charge and Perez' and Rondon's last appearance for us. The bullshit that followed in the next 2 months, so predictable yet so avoidable.

Imagine her at home shagging her husband and then Caulkin starts peering in the window.. “got an update Mandy” Spat me drink out.

Same story as it has been the last few weeks pretty much. Doubt they would only uncover a potential deal-scuppering bit of evidence at this point, if they did why wasn't it presented before? It'll still happen imo but it's past the stage of increasing my anxiety about it all, now it's just fucking boring.

Released a statement denying everything about the Don.

What a read. Hopefully days like this are in the not so distant future. https://www.nufc.com/html/1996-97html/1997-05-11forest-h.html

Just been on there myself, first thread I read was asking who others would support should Sunderland go tits up. First answer? Whoever is playing NUFC. Be horrendous for them if we start winning trophies, it’d hurt them more than any of their relegations or potentially going bust. We all hate Ashley as our sole purpose is to survive, no ambition at all. Their purpose is to hate Newcastle. Weird cunts. A joyful wearyside existence would genuinely be 17th in the PL season in season out as long as they 'beat the mags'. Admittedly 17th in the Championship looks a while off for them yet, but that's sad as fuck, what a pathetic existence. And yet that would be their dream. Shit place, shit club, shit fans, hilarious inferiority complex.

Remember reading somewhere that they were ITK during the Shepherd years? Either way they aren't the kind to post something like that without concrete knowledge, seem like 'after the fact' people.

Max Aarons is a YES from me - he looks exactly like the RB we’ve needed - has everything a modern day full back requires

Almiron? ASM? The Longstaffs (particularly Matty)? Also the Lascelles patter above I agree with. If you think the longstaffs will be anywhere near the squad 3 years after these take over you're off you're rocker. Didn't say they would be. Love a bit of ageism. Frankly, two of the players mentioned are younger than 23 and one is homegrown. To just go 'get rid, shite, not as good as the players between 93-04' is shortsighted and isn't how building a squad over time works. It's about building a squad over time as we won't have an immediate injection of quality. I didn't say that especially in that context you odious melt. Probably yeah, never said they were. Never said they would and they won't be all sold immediately. Deary me.

Already mention of 2020ers over on RTG. Called it. They probably think that the North Sea and a mysterious cabal of mag businessmen scuppered their deal with those Dell blokes and sent the Saudis our way because they were still seething about the Rafagation and the 6 in a row. FTM.
-
Imagine saying with a straight face that a club shouldn't go for the likes of Pochettino, Allegri, Rafa or Nagelsmann but instead stick with Steve fucking Bruce. Either these people are thick as fuck or just don't want to see another team tarnishing their precious top 6. I'll go with the former.

Completely random fact: the only seasons in which we've scored more goals at SJP than in 2010-11 are 1993-94, 1994-95, 1996-97 and 1999-00. Mad. We did dish out a few drubbings at home that season, 6-0 v Villa, 5-1 v mackems, 5-0 v West Ham, 4-1 v Wolves. And obviously the Arsenal 4-4.

If they takeover and if they get this right, probably getting ahead of myself but I can see us making it a top 7 rather than a top 6.

Although I somewhat agree, some of the points we've achieved have been incredibly lucky. Chelsea at home, Sheffield United away, Southampton at home, Brighton at home, Everton away. In addition I've only enjoyed watching 2 games this season, West Ham and West Brom which we still almost contrived to throw away. Some of the football served has up has been unequivocally vile; both games against Leicester and Wolves, Brighton, Norwich, Villa, Oxford. Due to the luck I can see why some are (strenuously) finding it difficult to give him credit as well as the regression from last season: after we beat Watford in November, up the the end of the season we were 7th in terms of points and after Almiron signed we were a good side and played nice stuff. To me, I was expecting us to be in a dogfight and get relegated due to the atmosphere around the club post-Rafa. However we've mostly stayed away from relegation fears and for getting to where we are in the FA Cup though the games against our first two League One opponents should rightly be criticised. I give him credit for exceeding my ridiculously low expectations, nothing more. The sooner he is gone if/when the takeover is announced the better.
