Brighton were god awful in the first half against us because they employed the wrong tactics against us; we hate being pressed quickly and they gave the likes of Shelvey and Schar time and space on the ball to pick out the passes they wanted to, they treat us like we were a top six side. What Souness is saying is just really shortsighted imo, you make a good point about engaging with the second balls which is something our centre halves and Rondon do particularly well, but he was essentially saying 'close the ball down, want it more than the other team and you're on the front foot'.
