"Altough Ashley feels Benitez hasn't shown enough appreciation of the financial situation at SJP" What fucking financial situation Ashley definitely wants to keep him as he knows he will keep him on the gravy train on a shoestring. If there was no funds last summer or this summer then why would there be in January? Unless they did that to make even any moderate funds in January seem like a big change. Surely he won't be fooled into signing a new deal by getting say 50m to spend in January for example then the tap gets turned off again for the next 2 summers. Surely they can come to a deal where they both are happy and have it wrote into a contract. But yet again that's on the basis of having a reasonable owner, anything that comes out or happens now shouldn't change a thing. He could give Rafa 100m in January and it wouldn't change a thing as we all know there's a sinister ulterior motive behind it always.

I know yeah good job there is still a long way left to go to catch up and I have had high scoring weeks still. Think I would be about 45th in NO league but instead I'm about 140! Was sick when I did it but I'm on the march back.
-
Haha no that was 4 weeks ago and it was supposed to be on a free hit on the basis that team would only be for one week. I've had some good scores 69 79 42 69 72 62 Just that -48pt hit has me below where I should be so I'm gonna use my free hit to hopefully rectify that this weekend
-
True but I went to use it week 2 anyhow but didn't tick the box and ended up spending 48pts so to still have it is a bonus. Still get another wildcard in January anyhow In a 2 man league with my mate for £200 and I'm about 50 pts behind so want to use it to rectify my mistake and close that gap. I only need to beat him really
-
Playing my free hit for this weekend. Once you make transfers on a free hit is that it? Or is it like the wildcard where you can tweak it all week?
-
We could be playing much better football in the final 3rd without sacrificing anything or most of which that makes us hard to beat. We are hard to beat, but we make it hard for ourselves to win games and there needs to be a balance. Throughout our promotion season and a lot of home games last season we could have, had we played better going forward, collected more points. I will take a 0-0 away to Palace all day long even though we were awful and showed no real ambition, but play like that at home to Leicester and I’ll say piss off and fuck that. We don't have any footballers in the final third though. Just a target men and some average "wingers" and Perez. We rely on set pieces scraps and knock downs etc. We did last season too

This seasons version is the same as 2016 and 2017 version. He hasn't just gone like this
-
Burnley or Fulham aren't going down like. Us Brighton or Southampton if they don't sack Hughes 5
-
If Ashley had done there what he has here he would be a fucking god. His tackiness would fit right in there as well they would suit each other. That first sentence sums them up. Smalltime
-
People complaining about what Rafa is serving up baffles me. It's no different to what got us 10th last season and how we beat manure Arsenal and Chelsea.
-
To try and keep this shambles of a club in the premier league for now at least. It's going to be one monumental slog for survival this season and I still think a lot of our fans just don't get how bad our squad is. Cardiff and Huddersfield are goners and it's us and Brighton for the last spot. Other than maybe Southampton I can't make a case for anyone else to be in relegation danger. Even Fulham seem to have too much and Burnley will sort themselves out now to be lower mid table
-
Yeah well apparently they were like 5th choice on his list but surely they can't have even been on his list at all? They are probably just signing whatever cheap crap they can and just thrusting it on him and saying there you go keep that up.
-
Faye and boumsong too? Reading all that it makes me wonder if Rafa even has any say at all in transfers
-
Right I've made the decision to make a concentrated effort to forget about Ashley best as I can and to not let anger affect my posts.
-
It's how many times we have conceded more than 2 goals in a league game
-
I'd guess 20 at least
-
Wrong. 5 times last season plus 3 in the pub league. 8 times in 98 league games Manure Leicester Watford Man City Chelsea That's it last season. Tight
-
8 in 98 league games
-
He has us so tight like, wonder how many times we have conceded more than 2 goals under him in a league game? I can't think of many at all, Man City, Liverpool, manure away, Chelsea once I think? Norwich home in the pub league. Barely a handful in around 100 league games
-
Yeah true the rest of there squads is similar to ours just they all have paid out for 2 or 3 players of quality whereas we dont
-
Yeah but Benteke was 30m and ambitious as he was highly rated when they signed him. Sakho 25m. There's 2 from palace that blows anything we have ever done under Ashley out the water. Townsend 20m also breaks our transfer record Ruben Neves was what 20m? Again breaks our transfer record and more ambitious than anything we have done certainly since promotion. Adama traore for more than our transfer record Seri to Fulham expensive ambitious and highly coveted. Same as mawson and the lad from Marseille Even Bournemouth have spent 20m plus twice on defenders. Southampton have spent 20m twice in the last year alone Even Brighton have broke our transfer record twice We just never break our mould of cheap, free, loan or a cast off
-
I definitely don't think it could be said for Everton, West Ham or Leicester and probably not for Fulham or Wolves. Even the likes of Southampton, Palace, Watford and Bournemouth seem to have made ambitious expensive signings recently, certainly compared to us Cardiff Huddersfield Burnley Brighton are the ones similar to us
