  1. You can attempt to change the narrative for what you said to now relate to the effectiveness of his headers, but the fact remains that you were of the belief he didn’t win any headers, when in fact that’s probably one of the strongest aspects of his game. Which in turn suggests you have a very poor understanding of what he actually contributes.
  2. Desperately trying to alter from the course where you were of the belief that a player in the top 1% of PL players at winning headers “doesn’t win headers”. That was the point your opinion of his playing abilities should have retreated to the tumbleweeds….
  3. Is there a site that gives you that rolling total or did you just work it out?
  4. Admittedly that’s a separate point and not one I’ve got any metrics to back up either way. However, all I would say is that anyone playing as central striker, I would probably expect their ‘headed pass completion’ (if there’s such a thing) to be fairly low.
  5. Let’s not gloss over that point here. You said he doesn’t win headers, when in fact he’s in the top 1% of PL players at winning headers. It’s like talking about Haaland and saying he doesn’t score goals. When you’re that drastically wrong about a particular aspect of a players game, it draws into question whether you’ve seen him play, or whether you’ve got a set opinion of him and refuse to deviate from it regardless of what he actually does.
  6. I mean the ‘don’t win any headers’ thing is actual something that can be proven as total nonsense with statistics… edit - and as if by magic @worthyhas just inadvertently done so in the very next post…
  7. Surely the question should be what have you seen from Maxi as a CF to pick him over Wood?
  8. Maxi is nowhere near a better option as a CF than CW. The only time you would consider picking him over Wood, is when presented with very specific circumstances, where you’re playing against an elite team and will be attacking almost exclusively on the counter. Those games are becoming less and less for us now. And even then I’m not sure it’s ever really worked particularly well with Maxi.
  9. Of course it doesn’t man. If any of those were better options than Wood, they would be playing. But they aren’t. Because outside of Wilson and Isak, Wood is our best CF option by a considerable distance. The lengths people are going to try and disrespect Wood because he isn’t good enough to be a regular starter in a top end PL team is mad.
  10. Forest signed Gibbs-White, Dennis and Awoniyi for god knows how much in the summer and here they are allegedly trying to get Chris Wood in on loan. Wood must have been impressive for us…
  11. Depending on what the postcode is you’ve used to register, I’d be wary of them cancelling the tickets before you get them.
  12. Whether everyone is now “done” with him or not is entirely irrelevant to the fact that he played a major part in us staying up, which, really, was 90%+ of what he was signed for. Pretending that he didn’t is utterly ridiculous.
  13. The thing is, it’s a ‘mess’ everywhere where demand outstrips supply, because there really isn’t a ‘good’ way of dealing with that. Man Utd have this ballot system for aways ( granted I don’t have a clue how it works) and their fans are forever whinging about it. All you hear from Liverpool fans is that ‘Anfield is full of tourists’. Arsenal and Spurs fans have gripes. It’s an inevitable consequence of being a big/successful club.
  14. This is such a mental stance to take. He obviously contributed. Considerably.
  15. Getting relegated would probably have been a worse precedent.
  16. I reckon he’d get 10-15 no bother. But without wanting to disrespect Gayle too much as was generally a really good contributor over his time here, his last contract renewal was one of the laziest acts of the whole Ashley era.
  17. The fact Gayle has been struggling to get a regular game for a team 20th in the Championship this season would probably suggest otherwise.
  18. Absolute garbage. He was overpriced, of course, but we knew and accepted that. He was brought in to achieve a specific objective (helping us stay in the league), which he achieved with flying colours. Anything useful he does subsequently, like scoring the winner in a League Cup match (that’s then seen us make the semi final), or scoring at Southampton and Leicester, is simply a bonus, aside from the less obvious stuff around his tactical performance. He’s not good enough for where we want to get to, and he’ll be phased out soon enough, but he’s done his job to enable us to get there. Money well spent.
  19. Probably just assume they’re getting beat off Barca.
  20. Isn’t that kind of the whole point with 95% of transfers?
  21. That’s exactly it. ST holders have paid to be members. If they want to change that next season, fair enough, knock the £35 off the price of a ST. But you can’t really do it mid-season when people have already paid.
  22. Which was in complete contrast to info initially put out on the ticket site. However, it does appear the email is the correct source.
  23. From the conversation @tommo has had with the Box Office it seems they HAVEN’T scrapped the one extra for ST holders, so it’s effectively the same as the Leicester game. Shite communication from them either way.
  24. I think the question was had we put a bid in for him, to which he said no. Not quite the same as having no interest…
  25. If ever anyone was thinking about purchasing a Sky Sports Month Pass, later this week would probably be a good time:
