Nah not yet. I reckon it’ll be next week though.

Not much turnaround time from Sheff Wed. Something we’ll have to get used to I think…
-
Gonna have to be sharp with getting the tickets out for the next round if it’s w/c 9th Jan. Would expect them to go on sale between Xmas and New Year.

You would play ASM in a midfield three?
-
I understand what you’re saying, and clearly it probably wouldn’t of hurt to add something like that, but perhaps there’s a feeling that that would in some way almost acknowledging they had some kind of choice? Would appear they only choice they were presented with (through no fault of the club) was move it to a different day or play it behind closed doors.

I think the situation may well be different given the circumstances around this game.

Just give them a call in the morning. They should be able to refund your card and cancel the tickets without you having to physically take them back.

What you have to realise is that because of where we’ve been as a club in our recent(ish) history, demand is almost at it’s absolute optimum now, certainly in terms of local support. Now, and probably for the foreseeable future, could we sell out a 75k stadium the vast majority of weeks, yeah we probably could. But will it always be like this? What happens when we’ve won the league and a few cups, and regularly been in the latter stages of Europe, then we hit a bit of a downturn (and by that I mean finishing 4th or 5th or something)? Nobody wins forever, so what’s the size of your fan base when things aren’t going great? If you’re not in London where you’ve got 10 million people, the only way you’re regularly filling that size of stadium in times of longer term poorer results, is to expand your national/global fan base the way Man Utd and Liverpool have done. And that probably takes 10-15 years of sustained success, if it’s even possible in modern times. For me, get the superstar architects to increase SJP to the absolute maximum possible, and if the next ten years sees us turn into a genuine European powerhouse, let’s have a conversation about a new super stadium then.

It’s all comparing apples and oranges anyway. International football is a completely different beast to Premier League football. I know if you’re a good player, you’re a good player regardless, but there’s definitely slightly different skill sets required.
-
Taking any of our front three (as good as they have been at times this season) over those three is pretty wild tbf. No ones having Willock over Rice (different players really tho) Dan Burn is not a better left back than Luke Shaw. And I really don’t think many take Schar over Stones. The GK one is actually interesting. As has been mentioned before being an international keeper is quite different to being a PL keeper. Totally understand why he goes for Pickford. But I’d take Pope every day in the PL

Love madly black and white biased posts ?

And put the thread back on it’s rightful course…. However, my presence is now contributing to it veering back off again, so I shall bid farewell and hope that Wor Garang gives us something else to talk about in here tonight.
-
Nor, I’ve just made the assumption, and maybe it’s a wildly inaccurate one, that when anyone wants to discuss English Imperialism and the social conscience of the Celtic nations, they don’t go seek out the Garang Kuol thread on here.
-
So, so weird. I’m specifically talking about Garang Kuol’s work permit in the Garang Kuol thread. You’re going off on some mad tangent trying to make it about something you obviously feel passionately about, but the majority of people reading this thread, me included, couldn’t give the merest fuck about.
-
Because in the context of the conversation of ‘Garang Kuol’s work permit’, which is what this thread Is relevant for, it’s no good suggesting Celtic nations are different to England because they’re not. He’s got no more chance of getting one there than he has here.
-
Not as far as I’m aware. That’s kind of the point…
-
I’ll take that as a No.
-
Would he get a work permit in any of them?
-
I reckon Friday Night is in with a shout as that midweek looks like it’ll be free for both (not sure what the craic is with FA Cup replays this season?) and it would probably keep Klopp happy if they had a day longer before the CL game
-
Sure you’re probably already aware, but looking at the fixtures that weekend, I’d say this one is a nailed on TV pick, so kick off will be moved. Liverpool are playing Champions League the Tuesday after, so it’ll not be on the Sunday. Leaves early or late Saturday and even possibly Friday night. Just in case that impacts your travel plans.
