The great contradictions of Anthony Gordon: Only bothers against the big teams, whilst simultaneously stating-padding against the weaker teams. Sacked off the end of the season but if he’d played we’d have got another 6 points.

We’ve maybe gone a touch OTT but I think that’s partly as a result of the bad feeling that immersed the club following the way dickhead left last summer. Obviously it had an immediate and lasting effect on the pitch, but the negative feeling that surrounded everything about it has lingered all season, one way or another. I suspect Howe has emphasised that that kind of scenario could not be allowed to happen again under any circumstances.
