“He’s a very zoomy, very dribbly boy” sounds a bit more U9’s than PL.

Can just imagine Tuchel’s phone call to him. ”Alright Lewis mate, you were gonna make the squad, but then I noticed you didn’t get picked against Arsenal and Brighton, so decided, solely based on you not featuring in those two games, to completely change my mind and abandon months of planning. Soz”

Not sure we’re coughing up the £80m valuation they’ve put on him like.
-
Unless it’s a Hall-type loan but not really, I’d be very surprised to see us loan him. Buy outright however, has Howe elite young development project written all over it.
-
If he’s prepared to take a £300k p/w pay cut, it might be an option.

An odd season in many ways. Can’t think of a goal that was definitively and obviously his fault. A couple (Spurs, mackems) that probably resulted from his indecisiveness in dealing with crosses. But then, the Man Utd game apart, I can barely remember him making a save of note. The exact opposite of Pope basically.

The overall point probably holds water, but you’re wrong about Bruno. Had 5 games on the bench to begin with then played virtually forever ever since.
-
Says a lot if he’s been willing to accept reduced terms. Really cementing his place at the club as a great of the modern era.

Surprised you didn’t go for Gordon’s pen against Man Utd to claim another Fernandes assist tbh.

All very well til said player starts acting like a massive dickhead and going on strike…

Someone was wearing a version (knock-off obv) of that in the away end at Fulham.

Can’t be that bothered cos he’s just retweeted Simon Bird’s photo from last night.

The great contradictions of Anthony Gordon: Only bothers against the big teams, whilst simultaneously stating-padding against the weaker teams. Sacked off the end of the season but if he’d played we’d have got another 6 points.
-
We’ve maybe gone a touch OTT but I think that’s partly as a result of the bad feeling that immersed the club following the way dickhead left last summer. Obviously it had an immediate and lasting effect on the pitch, but the negative feeling that surrounded everything about it has lingered all season, one way or another. I suspect Howe has emphasised that that kind of scenario could not be allowed to happen again under any circumstances. And even listening to Gordon’s interview, although he obviously doesn’t reference it, he mentioned how keen he was to part on good terms, probably cos he’s looked at the nightmare his pal has had, and thought ‘fuck that, I need to leave with everyone saying I’m a great bloke’.

Seen less dicking about at a World Cup draw.

Like everywhere, you go once and it’s a bit novel, not being able to get a pint is an inconvenience, but you gloss over it with the novelty factor. Once they hang around in the same league for a bit, familiarity breeds contempt, and you grow to despise the fact you can’t get a pint…
-
You can probably get a pre-match pint in Crewe or Peterborough though.

Their (well, the city of Wolverhampton as a whole) treatment of visiting fans belongs in the 1980’s.
