  1. I don't think that was anyone's choice. It was beaming from the big screen... a load of Champions League sponsor ads.
  2. The atmosphere was just weird all round. Really muted walking up to the ground pre kick off. The deafening champions league adverts and god awful pre match music killed the ability to get the songs going prior to the display. And then when the display came, as beautiful as it was (and honestly I appreciate you guys and your efforts massively), I do feel like it may have had a weird effect on the lack of ability to really make a cauldron of noise when they came out. After that though, it was entirely on the fans. There were some good moments, but for far too many long periods it was near silent.
  3. Agree the atmosphere was really poor tonight. Good in spells, but it fell very flat after Isak’s injury. Also… the display was fantastic… however I would argue that it possibly hindered the atmosphere at the start of the game to a degree… simply because people couldn’t clap. The entire stadium was holding something up in the air with two hands which made for quite a weird muted response as the players came out. That isn’t a criticism… more an observation that perhaps it might be better to stick to partial displays in future ?‍♂️
  4. Spoke to one of his family members tonight. A broken bone in his back. Out for around 6-8 weeks.
  5. He's in the training videos still ?
  6. IF this is all true... I don't have any sympathy for the lad. I don't buy this "addiction" bollocks. He got caught... that's it. It's very convenient to pipe up with addiction bullshit when your bad behaviour gets found out. As far as I'm concerned, IF this is all true, he's let everyone down massively and I think it'll be really hard to come back from that at NUFC. I'd be looking into all legal avenues of how we can take Milan to the cleaners to be honest.
  7. Where is it “pretty much confirmed”?
  8. Aye I desperately want a white patched shirt to make it Champions League accurate. Hopefully there are plans to release them soon.
  9. Ask any West Ham fan and they'll tell you Paqueta has a very poor start to life with them. Started to come good around January / February.
  10. I thought he was "OK" yesterday, as were most of the team.
  11. Fair result. Desperately need the break and a few injured / suspended players back.
  12. Because we have been shit with Isak in the middle so Howe has moved him out wide, and we've improved.
  13. I’m absolutely in love with that white short, white patch, red letter combo like. Beautiful.
  14. I thought he was excellent first half. Second half he looked to tire, but first half you could see the player we bought. He’s on his way now. Give him another 10 games and he’ll be a mainstay.
  15. Yeah, that was comfortably the best I’ve ever seen St James’. Absolutely unreal from start to finish. Even that spell after they scored, the crowd roared them on. Singing all over the ground, people out of their seats. Phenomenal. I was there for 5-0 in 96, 7-1 in 96, the 5-1 Sunderland game, the 6-1 Spurs game, and that was comfortably the best. What a night!
  16. I think that might be my favourite ever night at St James’ Park. Special from start to finish. The loudest I’ve heard it. Just unreal.
  17. Oh you will definitely weep like. I was bubbling like a baby in Milan. Almost certainly will tonight too.
  18. It's a human error. They happen all the time in football. Deal with it and move on. Delighted Jones' card hasn't been overturned... that was as clear a red as you'll ever see.
  19. So all the talk of the Redheugh being closed between 5 and 8 is untrue?
  20. Any updates on road closures tonight? The Redheugh Bridge rumours true?
  21. It's absolutely insane that anyone's trying to claim that the first red card wasn't a red. It was about as blatant as they come, even in full speed, even if the ref wasn't show the still image of the contact. It's dangerous. It might not be intentional, but it's certainly dangerous. I don't have much issue with the second red either. Obviously the first Jota incident shouldn't have been a yellow, but how many times do we see stuff like that given. I can understand why the ref gave it... in real time it does look like he nudges him for a cynical foul. The point is, Jota is then a moron for making that second challenge. Obviously the whole situation with the disallowed goal is ridiculous, but it has happened to loads of teams. It's human error, just like pre-VAR. I think the VAR ref should be banned for a few games, but that's it. It was a clusterfuck, but there's been loads. Liverpool aren't special.
  22. I’m fully in the camp of needing a new stadium like. It’s tired, and it feels like everything they’d do to increase capacity etc, would be a temporary patch on the problems.
