  1. There was talk of Daley Blind leaving Man Utd, but this is the realistic transfer thread so.....
  2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42149232 Not exactly that unknown over here as he had a well-documented trial with City a few year ago & he also featured in the Olympics. Absolutely terrific football player. There's some great clips of him on youtube.
  3. Aye. People underestimate how important just having a player who can carry the ball up the pitch is, end product or no end product He's very intelligent with the ball too, he might lack cutting edge but he doesn't waste the ball very much. Agreed, I think some have a view of him that he is wasteful with the ball, but in fact he seems to focus on retaining possession and does so successfully a lot of the time.
  4. Not sure Benitez would allow for the complacency seen in recent years against lesser clubs. Yes I know we went out against Forest earlier but I'm hoping he will take the FA cup more seriously and field a strong team. Any lower league team, home or away would do me, we could really do with the wins to gain momentum back in the league.
  5. Has a bit of a modernist art deco look to it. Not of my taste but it doesn't look bad at all imo. I'm more of a Craven Cottage style stadium person than these new bowl-style designs. Would like to see someone have a good go and designing a stadium which harks back to that old late 1800's early 1900's style but with a modern touch.
  6. Was that an EasyJet flight from Bilbao (or maybe Madrid can't quite remember) to Manchester, just before/after he joined Sociedad? If so I was also on that flight...
  7. I’d rather get on another flight then die in the subsequent crash. Jesus
  8. We will sit back and keep it tight I hope. Don't leave any room in behind. Would love a non-eventful 1-0
  9. Agree there mind, should respect the decision and leave the pitch. The levels of fame and attention he receives in & out of football probably mean he feels he has to make a play of it. Unnecessary. Can understand frustration if you actually have a right to feel aggrieved but after that 'tackle' you should just be f***ing off the pitch with your head hanging. That's it like.

  12. Red card all day that like. Shame because it will make the Manchester derby a far less entertaining game.
  13. To be fair he just completely made a mug of one of the best defenders in the league. The way he checks his run and then accelerates, and then given his height and strength he just poses such a different & difficult problem than most other top players. I'm not sure he does. He's a very good player no doubt, but that was just horrible defending. I think Koscienly is declining pretty fast anyway You might be right, he is declining. However, in the instance just gone, I was more struck by Pogba's ability to get passed him and deliver the ball rather than by Koscielny's mistake. Maybe the defender acts differently there if he's not up against such a good player, who knows.

  15. Talks rubbish like, seems to think his opinion is more valuable than his co-workers by the sounds of the commentary on this match. When Ozil had his free kick the co commentator came up with a perfectly reasonable assessment of the situation and Dixon was just like "nope, that's not right". How do yee kna Lee.
  16. Probably the best half of football I've seen this season. Arsenal have played excellently and can count themselves unlucky to not be at least level. Lacazette is hugely impressive.
  17. When Arsenal play their 1 touch football in the final 3rd, I enjoy watching them more than any other team in the league. So much potential not realised often enough.
  18. Aye, I've noticed. In my short time here I've found that the whole forum is generally calm, collected and well-reasoned... until Newcastle kick off.
  19. I think Arsenal look really good and are unlucky. Hope they get back into it.
  20. Don't think he's bene as bad as to say he's struggling defensively as a whole. He has good moments and bad, I'll take the option of focusing on those good moments rather than passing judgement of him as a player based on the bad. If he had been here 2 years I would agree, but he's been here 2 minutes and has shown us a lot of good moments, and has attributes our other defenders don't.
  21. Really like the look of Christian Kabasele of Watford. He was fantastic defensively against us and has put Watford ahead today.
  22. Who has written him off? He's been pap, he's costing us goals. He's struggling so much with basic defending. Every ball over the top he was scrambling. A lack of agility, a lack of pace. Spreading panic. Air kicks. Ducking headers. Playing attackers onside. He's rightfully being criticised. Over the medium term, I hope he can become good. But we need to stay up. We need points and clean sheets now. We need Lascelles in and Lejeune out asap. Reintroduce him and rebuild his confidence later. There's a lot of negativity surrounding him that I'm seeing. Don't think it's very useful personally, of course he's struggling at the moment, everyone is, but I tend to veer more towards staying behind a new player who is in an adjustment phase than to be critical of his every move. Still lots of positive signs from him this season.
