Nice to see Ashby hit the ground running after his injury woes

Wait is this true?!
Yeah, MLS has been running a tournament with LIga MX. There were some dumb rules: draws were decided by penalty shootouts with the winner getting an extra point and the loser getting just a single point for the draw, Mexican teams couldn’t play in Mexico, if you played a home game against a Mexican side, they were seen as the home team.

Apparently there was no NUFC merch on sale at the match while there was for all other teams.
This was an issue last U.S. tour. Spoke to some of the staff at Portland when we went there under McClaren and they were stunned we had no merch to sell to fans.

I've written some shit in my life, but this might take the cake:
"Newcastle need to be mindful of the fact the squad, in its current form, does not have the variety, depth or quality of the more established clubs they intend to challenge on an equal footing every year."
Thanks, Sherlock. -

RIP the Canucks syruping all over the thread.
Always got the Blue Jays, I guess.
The country hasn’t been this low emotionally since the great Quebec syrup heist.
But honestly, no complaints about the score and nice to see some of our younger players get some game time and develop (ie: Ali Ahmed)

Last two times I've worn my toon top out (running) here in Canada some random's remarked on it (Newcastle!). It had happened before, but not at the rate of twice in a week. We're massive.
When I lived in Ottawa, I had my Northern Rock top on and some guy said he thought it would be worth something due to Northern Rock going under. Sadly, he was wrong.

I was a Utd fan for 30 years before this summer - trust me when I tell you we do not want McTominay.
Ah, yes those infamous thin Manchester United seasons in the past 30 years. Tbf you missed out on some great Newcastle moments: awful owner, relegations, fucking around a player undergoing cancer treatment, John Carver showcasing some incredible handwritten letters, just to name a few highlights.

Yeah, missing 10 starters. Just isn't the depth behind that yet. The Guatemala game was atrocious. That said it was near +40 with humidity and the game started at 9pm local!
Guadeloupe actually have a fairly solid team. A couple of top tier league players and mainly all French expats that play in Ligue 2.
Canada should be beating both though. Lots of new players simply not gelling. Ahmed from the whitecaps looks a great find for the program though as does mls rookie Bombito. Canada desperately needs CB's. It's a gong show back there.
The background stuff with the CSA saying bankruptcy was possible then trying to walk it back also wasn’t helpful.

I’m still not sure of the point of having the Nations LeagueIt’s kind of weird to see the Gold Cup completely eclipsed by the Nations League

If we are on about veganism, I hope they that are vegans realize they are potentially gonna cause the extintion of cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, etc etc as they are not farmed to be viewed , also there'll be no milk , have you tried oat milk which on reality is the juice of oats caused by using water.
You know people who aren't vegans drink oat milk, or milk substitutes, due to allergies, right?

Also a big fan of the broadcasters on this Canadian feed not even attempting to pronounce “Ligue 1”

What in the FUCK.
I interviewed Gregg’s kid after he scored his first career goal and one reporter said to the press box beforehand “I wonder what Gio thinks of this.” The silence was awkward

I love that the news dump of his return happened during the game too. Nothing ever changes with the USMNT

Papiss Cisse, man. What a story. From world class striker stats for six months to being unable to hit a cows arse with a banjo.
I still loved him.
The period where he was just constantly offside nearly broke me

Must be mad being a fan of an MLS side like. Lionel Messi threading balls down the wing to Deandre Yedlin.
Vancouver only got to get Nigel Reo-Coker before he drunk drove his bike into a bike rack and spent several weeks out injured.

Leicester playing that dynamic Dean Smith football, I see.

That and our federation being broke contributed to the move as well. Gotta love an FA that says “we’re broke” then immediately tried to backtrack that.
