  1. Even if at some point, performances start dropping, which is inevitable even with the best teams, he should get at least 1 season to work through it. He's proven to be a good manager and deserves time. From flirting with relegation to losing a cup final in 2 seasons, that's immense progress. Look at teams like Nottingham Forest and Everton who spent so much to be so terrible. Could easily happen to Newcastle as well.

    Sean Longstaff

Just like Schar, was identified and playing well under Rafa and a 40m fee was quoted for him. Crashed under the disaster of Steve Bruce and almost left the club on a free. Revitalized under the better coaching of Eddie Howe.
  3. The team was getting relegated before he arrived and nothing has changed so far. At least give him till the end of the season before judging.

    Miguel Almirón

Was the key to unlocking Newcastle in attack along with Perez and Rondon. His arrival added much needed attacking options along with a solid defence. Sadly a change of manager and suddenly the smile is gone. Mostly the same players and most of them has declined since Rafa left.
  5. Easily could have been another Shelvey red card
  6. Rafa had 10 games and took about 3 or 4 games to get his idea across. Eddie Howe will have 27 games. I'm quite confident Newcastle will not be relegated.
  7. I feel that their primary target or targets are either unavailable or unwilling. Therefore they are trying to see if Graeme Jones has it in him to keep the club up as they do not wish to compromise. Ideally they want to wait till summer and see if any of their top target is available. If Graeme Jones is able to show signs that he can keep the club up, the job is his till end of season. If the club is still in danger by december, they will be forced into making a short term appointment and look into paying him off after he keeps Newcastle up and make a long term appointment in summer.
  8. Too early to tell. He's 24. So far, it seems like he thrives being the top dog who is allowed to do what he wants on and off the pitch. In a top team with a top coach, he might go up another level or he breaks down mentally because of the discipline required. I'll give him another season or two to see if he has it in him to adjust and go right to the very top.
  9. That looks very much like a Steve Bruce special except it's 4 at the back. Will hold judgement till the actual game is over.
  10. I do not know what you are trying to say here. Newcastle won the Championship and yes, Steve Bruce gave the go ahead for Joelinton and for a whole season played him as the main striker. The same Joelinton Rafa refused to sign.
  11. Style of play is dependant on the players he has. I would say being top 3 or 4 in creating big chances to conceding big chances ratio in Europe right now is a pretty good style to have.
  12. I 100% agree there is no way Rafa will break his contract. However, I also believe if Everton's loses a few games the minority fan base who hates Rafa might shout loud enough that the club sacks him, ignoring that their squad was terrible outside of the first 11 and the injuries they have to their key players now.
  13. To be fair, anyone on the list should keep Newcastle up comfortably. Next season will be the one any new manager will be judged on.
  14. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/everton-man-city-psg-bayern-21890641 Everton have one of the best ratios for big chances created and conceded in Europe’s top five leagues. The Blues trail only Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain when it comes to making opportunities in the final third and stopping them at the other end.
  15. Everton lost. A couple more losses and their fanbase will be asking for a new manager. Maybe Amanda is just waiting for that to happen. 🤣
