Loved Isak (and I'm not being a revisionist here) but he honestly always seemed aloof and like he was going through the motions to me. Never got the feeling he was genuinely engaged in the club or with the fans. This lad already comes across better (at least from a PR perspective) on day-1.

Not in the traditional sense, but with "shadow strikers" and "false nines", yes.
-
That's precisely why you need pace up front - to go with them... Who are they going to cross to, when our striker hasn't even made it into the box yet?

They're the RB Leipzig of the Prem.

Agree to disagree. The fit with Gallagher would be better and he'd likely adapt quicker in my opinion.

Great point. It's proven beyond doubt now that nothing leaks early from our side, so all this Isak shite has come from Liverpool and their paid twitter shills from day-1, in an obvious attempt to unsettle the player and pressure us into selling (at a lower price)... It's all as plain as day. I'm more adamant than ever, we absolutely must NOT sell Isak to Liverpool now, or it'll just reinforce to everyone that those kinds of dirty tricks and underhanded tactics work.

Chelsea will only loan with an obligation to buy, so doesn't give us options next Summer when payment is due.
-
Aye, Gallagher would be great and is very available... Don't know why we haven't made genuine moves for him already.
-
That's my point though... We'd need £25M for Willock and £40M for Barnes, just to break even on what we paid for them. Prem scouts will know both can be had, but nobody's really sniffing around at those prices (although I'd argue both would be pretty fair deals)

Need a buyer in order to sell.

Revisit Samu (Omorodion) Aghehowa... Might be cheaper due to the injury, although wouldn't help us immediately obviously.

It's just crazy to me. We're not talking Real Madrid or something here... It's fucking Liverpool. A team we beat in a cup final last season. We were in with a shout of finishing in 2nd place with just a few weeks to go last season. We are not a million miles from them by any measure, so what's the love affair with them specifically all about? I can understand him wanting a pay-rise considering there are other clubs willing to pay him more, but he signed a long-term contract with us on wages he was happy with just a year ago (and had no release clause inserted)... That's football. Sometimes contracts work in your favour (see Targett) sometimes they don't. This is blatant tapping up and coercion through shady agent backroom deals and paid "journalist" mouth-pieces.

Feels like he tends to imply transfer dealings aren't up to snuff when managed by an outsider (someone who could be a threat to his authority), but now makes excuses when family members are directly responsible. Starting to feel like Howe's on-field success is almost forcing PIF to give him the final say on transfers... which is perhaps the bigger reason for Ashworth & Mitchell wanting out - and we're now left with wet behind the ears, nepo hires trying to cut deals.

Once it all starts to click? Yeah, they might even be capable of winning something like the CWC

Doom & Gloom merchant... Loves generating clicks from bad news headlines, but agree he does tend to get a lot right generally.
