I've noticed an interesting trend about assumptions people have about certain posters that I will keep to myself for now.

It's actually ridiculous how quickly this has all happened like. I expected it to happen, but literally the following season people not being happy with an 11th-13th finish or being disappointed in signings. We're clearly on the right track, trying to get to where we want to be, attempting to make big signings, actually making big signings, and have only just emerged from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre house we were trapped in for 14 years, just under a year ago. I'm sorry but everyone's right, the stereotype of the deluded, entitled Newcastle fan is 100% accurate and I fucking hate having to be associated with you nutters.

Considering Ralph Hasenhutl's mid table and Steve Bruce is near the bottom I'm going to go ahead and say that whatever metric they're using is broken.

If we're discounting young players not getting a chance like Salah, KDB, Sturridge etc, then Lukaku is an obvious case of a misused striker last season, then Torres, Diego Costa, and Tammy Abraham flopped or were discarded only to regain their form elsewhere. Considering they play one up front and it's only over a course of a decade or so, that's a lot of players. It's not called the striker's graveyard for nothing.

They have Jared Bowen ffs, it's not even remotely close.

It usually is, but there no denying that Chelsea are a special case when it comes to misusing and discarding talent. The list is way longer than just KDB and Salah. So I'm less inclined to take it as any sort of red flag.

You can do whatever you like, whether you think it's shit patter or not, I'd say it's because there's obvious truth in it and you have no answer for it. It's looking a gift horse in the mouth and taking things for granted in the extreme to be disappointed in these circumstances imo We were begging for the club to just try less than a year ago, now we're possibly having to fall back on players we would have been nowhere near because we've missed out on some of the most promising players out there. It's crackers.

I'm happy that we're competing again. Not going to be disappointed by whoever we sign so long as it's clear we're going in the right direction. I've thought Harrison all summer and I think that'll be a goer. For the back up striker I think it'll be a new name.

It's funny you mention it being like Rooney in 2004, I've been thinking it's much more like us going for Duff in 2005.

It would have, but I do think us being a very likely injury away from starting Chris Wood should be the main focus for us. Just my opinion as well obviously, but I think an out and out RW is a more suitable fit than Maddison, as good as he is.

I'm pretty sure 'here we go' has a 100% record. Tap in merchant or not, he's good because he's accurate.

I'm not going but someone should definitely ask whether they still have reliable sources at the club, or whether it's changed since Ashworth came in. They can always just lie like, but it might give us an idea based on how they answer it.
