  1. Ugh. If this lot win it again man. Dull as dishwater
  2. Haven't seen indecision like that since Obertan
  3. https://www.nhs.uk/better-health/quit-smoking/
  4. France have had some serious 'luck' in this World Cup
  5. This French team remind me of that Real Madrid team from a few years ago. They seemingly win everything while rarely looking impressive.
  6. France fouling and the ref waving play on. Quelle surprise
  7. I agree they have. What I mean is it would need to be something seriously special for me to rank a tournament achievement over a league-winning one on the level of Leicester's. As in like Qatar winning the World Cup, beating Brazil, France, Argentina etc along the way.
  8. Nearly getting relegated to winning the league over the course of 38 games the following season will always be a greater achievement than anything in tournament football for me like. You can't fine margin, luck of the draw, or outright luck your way to winning a league.
  9. Still Leicester. But in tournament football it would be up there with Greece '04.
  10. Out of form No idea why it keeps reverting back to out of shape after I've edited.
  11. If Higuan wasn't terrible, Messi's knockout performances would have been just as productive and they'd probably have won it. Remarkable considering Messi was really out of form by his standards around that time.
  12. In 2014 his player of the tournament award was debatable, but I think he's been incredible in this World Cup and the best player in the tournament. You can see he's lost a yard and has to decide when to go God mode and when to relax, but it just shows how high his ceiling was that he's still rinsing players now despite being slower and having less stamina.
  13. If the benchmark we're having to hit is that Kane's 'could have been a freekick' then you're never going to be convinced the Saka one was. Both were blatant fouls, but the Kane one isn't even slightly contentious.
  14. Again, I can't get my head around you thinking this. The defender has three bites at him, on the third Saka's leg is sweeped in the process of the defender getting to the ball. I can't really say anymore than that. In fact he doesn't even get the ball. It's even more of a foul than I originally thought.
  15. I can't get my head around how you'd not see the challenge on Saka before their goal as a foul like. He goes through the man to get the ball. That gets given as a foul 9 times out of 10. The others on Kane and Saka were even worse. He was shocking yet still not as bad as the Argentina v Netherlands ref.
  16. It's fine. Nothing stomach churning or anything, just him shouting out in pain.
  17. Nah, just fantasising about Juve having to sell players and us going for him. Isak was my mate's ideal signing when the takeover happened, mine was Chiesa.
  18. I'd be sooooo happy if we went in for Chiesa
  19. No one said he was doing it in his latter days. Straw man. He was doing it from about 14 to 18ish.
  20. Messi's been an out and out LW, an LF, a 10, a false 9, and then started playing as a Xavi, Iniesta, Messi hybrid who runs entire games, breaks lines, and finishes off chances. I can't even entertain the idea that Ronaldo was ever comparable to him tbh. I think it's totally daft. Their goal output is comparable, but that's about it.
  21. Ronaldo's greatest personal achievement was being part of the whole Messi v Ronaldo thing imo. Remarkable player who achieved a huge amount, but being compared with Messi has always been ridiculous, a massive compliment to Ronaldo, and a big overstatement of his talents.
