  2. If you have a few brain cells you can easily assess that Spurs are in a tailspin of terrible decisions. But yeah London probably still does have a draw when it comes to the WAG’s.

Listen to what Conte said.. “if you don’t care about trying to achieve something, it’s easy” or something to that effect. The players don’t want to play under pressure there.

If Maddison has identified Spurs as a preferential destination that tells you all you need to know about his aspirations. And probably same about Harry Kane if he stays.

If you have ambition, want to work hard and know and accept that you’re going to play for a coach who expects/demands maximum effort, Newcastle is the place.

  3. He always lacked in maturity, lacked in overall work ethic and lacked in the brains department.

Swansea got the best of him without doubt, but even that was a fleeting moment over a whole career. He had a few decent games here but it was mostly gash.

He’s not outgoing or articulate enough to make a career out of punditry, he’ll be given a crack at it I’m sure but wouldn’t hold much hope.

  4. Let’s just take it that Liverpool will win their remaining games. I think we can take points in all our remaining ones minimum but will that be enough? Brighton are in a good spot but we’re not far off.

I just fear we’ve had a good run and might be going off the boil at the wrong time.

Need some big performances from those who are fit to play.

Joelinton has to go back to the wing.. Isak to the middle and at this point in season I’d be happier to start Murphy on right midfield if Longstaff is still out. He’d have the legs to cover for Bruno at least. And Miggy could play wing and let them switch when they want.

  5. It’s not being unfair to say he hasn’t really contributed since signing. But Howe sees it and at some point we will too.

Was far more annoyed by Maxi today so not really sure why AG is getting so much hate.

  6. I’d be all for teams being able to have a challenge.. similar to tennis, maybe 3 a match, up to the captain to decide when to use them.

VAR can be generally used for violent conduct or dangerous tackles but goal related incidents are either used as a challenge by a team who think they’ve been wronged or by a team who think they should have a penalty.

Linesmen flag like they used to. But also goals will stand like they used to too unless challenged.

That would sort the flow of games out.

  7. That was a disaster today. I’m annoyed, not necessarily at losing but more how we fell for their time wasting and antics.

Any time we got some momentum they had an “injury” - by far the worst I’ve seen all season including some of our less sporting moments.

We had chances but were so wasteful.

Not going to name some underperformers but we had a few notable ones today.

  8. I agree, we have created plenty of chances and been wasteful. We’ll create more.

Id like to see Isak get a few minutes in the centre.. Wilson has been decent but we have options so why not switch around.

Our midfield has been the weak link today. Giving little protection to the back line and falling for their shithousing.

Eddie needs to read them the riot act at half time and I think he will.

I'm not sure there are many players who fit the bill in this regard, like

I would be super intrigued to see him in Murphy's current role. Think he and Trippier linking up would be quality. Maddison was poor tonight but thought a lot of his better work came when he drifted out to that side.

If he did come in I wonder if he'll play one of the wide roles quite a bit. Not sure there's enough pace and power in a three man CM with Bruno and Maddison. My inclination would be to leave Bruno as the base of the midfield, pulling a the strings. Then stick two absolute bags of energy either side of him. Maddison doesn't fit the bill in this regard.

We already have this though. Big Joe and Longstaff adequately fulfill that role and we can see a dip in how we press (and how effective it is) when he doesn’t play.

Big Joe is more for personal battles, he’s someone who won’t just let like the likes of Declan Rice dominate a game.

  10. I’m not sure he’s a great fit for our side either. For all of his creativity and damage he can do with the ball, I think he makes us more vulnerable.

If we stay the course and qualify for Champions League, we can go for a player who has all his attributes plus power, pace and athleticism.

Now if we go for him I’ll be all in as have full trust in the clubs vision, but I just have my doubts.. I think he’s one of what will be many many options.
