  1. See here’s the thing, we all love the club, we support it and want it to be the best it can possibly be. Steve Bruce claims to feel this way too, but the difference between say us if any of us got the chance to be a football manager, if we weren’t up to scratch it would hurt but we’d move aside because it needed to happen.

Steve Bruce comes first and love for the club a far second (if even). His ego and settling scores with people for pointing out the obvious seems to be prioritised over actually doing his job, which he’s very limited at achieving success in.

I didn’t have any personal animosity towards him when he first took over, I knew he was going to be a poor appointment, we all did, based on his track record.

But this dislike, bordering on a hatred has grown steadily over the last 2 years for all the reasons mentioned above.

He set his stall and then when it backfires on him he plays the victim card, it’s a detestable trait.

  2. In my opinion they’ve played this really well, it will placate the media types who are itching to trash us and more importantly it diverts the conversation away from negativity.

Give the fat cunt his send off, he thinks he’s up there with Fergie, let him think that.

I’ll be hoping we fluke a win, we need the points.

And then after we can just get on with it.

Ok I’ve got to pull you up on this, hoping the team gets beat so that it might in some way contribute to Mike Ashley leaving (or firing a manager) is one thing.

But this is different. It’s a show of respect, he’s a dead duck and everyone knows it.

So why would you actively want the team to lose? We got what we wanted in Ashley leaving, it’s now time to drop this nonsense, it’s hysterical and unwarranted.

Can you not just enjoy the first match in the post Mike Ashley era? Or has your thinking become totally skewed?

  4. I should read that comment above and just assume Hakka is taking the absolute piss out of someone there but I’ve seen some absolute Karenesque comments from folk over the last few days in relation to this.

We've been absolutely mentally abused into thinking the way Mike Ashley carried on running this club was normal and we’re now hopping on any moment of slight indecision we think we see.

Our new owners are not stupid people, they can’t afford to act like Mike Ashley, they can’t just sack Steve “I’ve got loads of media chums” Bruce without some amount negative reaction, unless they do it properly and at least appear to have given him some consideration while they conduct a more thorough review of things.

I believe them when they said this had happened so quickly that they were caught off guard.

We have to take PIF into consideration, Yasir Al-Rumayyan won’t be doing this as a hands on day job so he’ll be presently assembling a day to day PIF team that’s based here, but this might be like 15/20 mins of each day while this happens, this is how busy this man is. It’s probably easier getting world leaders on the phone.

Once that happens and whoever this day to day person is, they’ll be authorising the money the club spends. Only then will we see rapid changes. How much input will AS and the Reuben’s have? Some probably, I’d imagine the latter will be here for the overall 2030 plan than just the club and for AS, I think having a share of something that people in high places will want to come to, she’ll be in a prime position to leverage PCP into making deals happen on these corporate match days.

And for right now, yeah sure I’d prefer if he was gone before the weekend but no biggie, I’m not expecting us to win, we’ve been so poor. I almost prefer that Jones doesn’t have to take the brunt of that deflated enthusiasm if we end of losing by 2 or 3.

Feet under or over their desks, this is not in any way a tough or difficult decision to make.

Whether they are "nice" people or not is for them to prove through their actions. Most, if not everyone, liked Ashley in the beginning too.

My confidence in them will be non-existent if they don't bin Bruce before the Spurs match. It's a bad decision from a sporting perspective which will impact the commercial side long term if we don't get any points against spurs and it will immediately sour the relationship they have started building with the fans.

14 years of Ashley and you're giving the new owners a week before your confidence in them will be "non-existant"?

    Jesus wept.

  6. I know we're all desperate for this silage heap to go but also important to remember, the new owners have barely gotten their feet under their desks yet.

They're nice people and will have been used to dealing with people in their line of work with a certain courtesy, this doesn't mean they won't be afraid to make the important decisions.

The truth is we don't know anything about what's happening behind the scenes, the amicable chat they had yesterday may have very well included the information that they will want to bring in their own setup when the time is right.

Bruce may have indicated that he plans to retire after stepping down, so maybe they are letting him get his 1000th game as a professional courtesy. We just don't know.

Ashley was always the issue, and that's been solved. Everything else will just fall into place in time. Chill..

  7. Before we sign anyone we need to bring in a management setup with a clear ethos of how we will play.

Then the list/options of players who will fit into that becomes far more manageable.

  8. They’ll have his bank details already.

Now that could have been an awkward conversation if it was Harry Redknapp ? “sorry Harry, you want me to write your dog a cheque for 3 million?”

I suppose they’ll thank him for his work and say something about wanting to move forward without any link to Mike Ashley which is why they feel they must bring in their own coach. Everything going very smoothly until Lee Charnley brings in the tea and cakes, then the reptile part of Steve’s brain kicks in “I like cake, I could have done that”

”Mandy, Jaymeee, Bogdod, I’ll see you in coourt”

  9. How is it normally done at this level? I mean forget about Mike Ashley, that would be a text message but I mean, classy establishments which it seems we’re going to be run like.

Will he get the courtesy of a face to face meeting?

  10. The season before we sold Andy Cole.. exciting times.. then the following season he went and it seemed like we’d taken such a step back.. until that summer.

Remember seeing the footage of Keegan coming out to talk to the supporters and pleading for them to trust him.. he never let us down ever.

How could you not fall in love with football at that moment in time?

Caulkin indicating on Twitter that Rafa has been spoken to/approached but has said he’s unwilling to break his Everton contract.

We knew this already though. It’s one of those, we had to ask situations given his contact with AS in the first instance. But they’d have known he’s 100% loyal to a contract.

It’s shite because he’s the perfect fit for a massive project like this, but it’s all about timing. If they (the consortium) didn’t know this was going to go ahead until the start of last week, he can’t have known anything they didn’t before that.

I’ll still be hoping he receives a massive welcome when Everton come here. You never know, things might align for a return further down the line.

  12. He’s made everything about himself at every opportunity. Even on the day of the takeover he was giving his “woe is me, some people on the internet said mean things” shtick.

It’s as pathetic as his management skills.

He’ll never get a bigger job and it could very well be his last job at the top level, you’d have thought he would have at least tried to make the best of it but he seems to have gone out of his way to do the bare minimum this season. Taking a fucking holiday a few weeks into the season.

He might not be the worst manager we’ve had statistically, but I can’t recall hating any as much.

  13. Conte, premier league experience? Check, a natural winner? Yes. His English is limited but enough to convey a message across.

I’m not sure if he’s a long term appointment but he would steer the ship in the right direction which is what we need.

At the end of the day, this squad is in real danger of taking us down and there needs to be a serious patch up job between now and January when we can bring in a few reinforcements. We have some good players but it’s so disjointed, we need someone who can identify exactly the type of player who will make our existing ones perform better.

  14. I’m not sure where that figure came out of, probably from Bruce himself!

Final year of his contract with no clause mentioned that anything gets triggered.

It’ll be less than 3 million and he should count himself very lucky to be getting it, the absolute charlatan

  15. The fuss will die down, I don’t recall Chelsea supporters ever having to answer for Roman Abramovich’s link to Putin or dodgy business dealings but Man City certainly got a bit, probably nowhere near as much as what we will over the next few months.

It’s 80% people who just have a gripe with the wealth, a quick scan of peoples Twitter timelines shows human rights or even the Khashoggi murder were things they never thought to mention before. But now they are experts on the matter?

Im not uncomfortable at all with it because I believe PIF are separate enough, Yasir Al-Rumayyan is the one in charge here and he’s extremely capable, sure is he doing a good job for the Prince? Yes of course but MBS knows this man will do a far better job than his personally interfering would ever do which is why he’ll stay out of it.

Not even sure he’ll make an appearance at SJP, at least not until things really quieten down

Not a fan of giving the longstaffs contracts

She’s hardly going to trash any player we currently have in our squad.

I can tell she knows more about football than the previous lot. None of the things that are obvious to us will have gone unnoticed with her or her husband either.

  17. I’d be very surprised if this version of nufc will allow Bruce to be any part of their beginning. I think he’s gone by Monday or Tuesday.

Then they’ll announce a new manager a day or two later. It could be anyone, that’s the amazing thing. The conversations before were always “but who would come here” now anyone is attainable.

A manager who hasn’t already fallen out with many players would be ideal.
