I’m saying this from memory but I’m pretty sure the Milan lab is super focused on teeth .

Oral health and general health are very much linked.

Wrong thread, but gum disease in more serious cases of covid is a thing too.

  2. Rafa will never go to Everton and say he wants to break contract. Now if, we approach Everton and they accept an offer, that’s different. That absolves him.

The fans may not be happy with him but am fairly sure the board are pleased enough though. Comfortably in the top half of table, close to top 4 and with loads of injuries. They can only improve.

Why would they accept an offer for him when there’s literally nobody better at that job with the constraints they have now.

  3. I remember at the time when he was at his peak for us, kept getting shin splint injuries. When they started using computers to track his jogging, running motion, it was all wrong. He spent the best part of a season being taught how to run properly/develop muscles.

I believe Steven Gerrard had similar problems with his posture as well in his early days which kept leading to injuries.

    More legal action for NUFC?

They should just go ahead with whatever they want to do and then leave it up to arbitration (confidential) to sort the mess out. Once our lawyers get involved all those cunts will back off.

  5. I was reading that Barca can’t afford to pay any new manager more than what Koeman was on (around 3.75m a year), they literally don’t have the money.

So any of the names us or Man Utd are being linked with are a no go for them unless they want to take a pay cut to go there during what will ultimately be a shit run.

If Spain do pfm types, that’s what they’ll be in for.

    Tron?

Tron is a good poster, he made a tit of himself at the weekend though. Thankfully cancel culture is not a thing on here, everyone deserves at least one fuck up?

  7. I think it’s safe to say whoever comes in will be backed and given the time to actually build something special.

The difference between Ajax and where we aspire to be, is that we won’t want to sell off the nurtured talent as soon as they come to the fore.

That in itself would be a huge draw for someone like ETH, being able to develop the team and then be able to keep playing them to see how far they can go (while also having the financial muscle to buy the right cogs when needed)

Totally agree. It’s exciting hearing new managers methods and tactics, like Fonseca who is all about having and controlling the ball. I would much rather see that implemented (especially in home games), than the style of giving up possession and hitting on the counter. I also think parts of the crowd will get tired of Rafas style very quickly now with us not being a two bit shite Ashley ran club anymore and expectations a lot higher. Something I wouldn’t want to see is him getting stick. Definitely time to move on to someone new and exciting.

We never saw Rafa’s style, he just used all of his experience to turn an absolute turd into one of the best drilled units in the Premier League.

If he’d have been allowed to build on that I have absolutely no doubt we’d be a top 8 club right now. Then the money comes, he could literally swap out players as instant upgrades without having to guess at what was going to work.

  9. Rogers would probably be the most reliable appointment next to Rafa. But both are not going to break a contract.

I voted Fonseca but I also have concerns there if it didn’t work out that it would backfire spectacularly. Some of the others carry less risk.

As for Conte, there’s a reason Man Utd are in for him. He’s a great coach and a strong figurehead, players respect him and generally anyone who’s gone up against him has come out second best in terms of challenging his authority.

If we have the ability to pay 6 million a year for Fonseca, we should be all over Conte

  10. For us he’s a known quantity and never let us down. He made a mistake going there but it’s also easy to say that with the hindsight of the last few weeks.

The fact is he wanted to work and that was the only gig in town.

I suspect our new owners want a structure that he maybe wouldn’t be totally happy with anyway as he’s a control freak. He certainly wouldn’t work under anyone.

  11. It’s not Ole’s fault, and it wasn’t Mourinho’s fault either. That team has a core of bad eggs, they’ll play nice for a while and make the effort but when it’s time to work hard to turn things around, they go missing and then ultimately try and get their manager sacked. A bit like ours, that club needs to be fumigated to clear out all the cockroaches.

I wouldn’t have Pogba (in particular) anywhere near our club.

Until that happens (a massive clear out) it won’t matter who takes over as manager. The same thing will keep happening.

He’s a good manager, yes. Wouldn’t want him here though.

I agree, honestly I thought after Sunderland his career was finished. He looked a shell of a man. It’s a remarkable turnaround.

There’s nothing I particularly dislike about him but still wouldn’t like him here (despite him being light years ahead of Steve Bruce as a manager)

  13. I regret listening to that. I’d say mingling with those lot, you’d have to lower the intelligence levels of everything you say, anything actually witty or on point would be met with silence or ridicule.

Eventually after spending enough time with them, your brain cells begin to die off and then one day you’re suddenly laughing at your own farts in the bathtub.

The the last 3 goals Everton conceded today were shocking.

He’ll be fuming at that. Players just threw the towel in. Losses are inevitable at some stage but the manner of it is what matters.

He spent less than 2m during their whole transfer window, you’d wonder if he’s walking into another situation where he’s being restricted. He’ll suffer through it but it won’t end well.

    Is this cunt still employed?

Yeah I think Hope covers this quite well, when they came in they only then realised how much of a skeleton staff the club was running on and that they couldn’t just let him go as they didn’t have anyone in place. All this will change but he’ll probably still be here going into 2022.

They think he’s a capable operator apparently though given the circumstances he was working under.

For me, he goes hand in hand with the previous regime and has been on the record essentially gaslighting the supporters with comments about the club, especially the training ground. There’s no way he can stay long term.

  16. If Jamie Reuben is mates with Redknapp, great, we need more friendly faces in the media, doesn’t mean that’ll translate to making poor choices in terms of what the club wants to achieve.

    It won’t be Rafa.

It won’t be Wenger, who even if he was interested, he’s been out of the loop for too long. He moved football forward in this country for sure but everyone caught up and some surpassed him in the end. No thanks.

We like Fonseca. Young, confident and capable. Hopefully it’s him.

We keep hearing Conte is not in the conversation but I’m wondering, say if Ole gets the boot soon at Man Utd, they’ll be in for someone like him, so why wouldn’t we at least have that conversation before they get in there?

The fact the new owners are being methodical about this process is great though, almost seems like it’s happening to another club

  17. Leave SJP alone, build a new stadium and call it whatever you want but then again, all the most commercially successful clubs (historically) .. Man Utd, Barca, Real.. they left their stadium names alone.

Maybe to play catch up financially with clubs like that you have to go further but it would be a last resort.

  18. Although Martinez wound still be a massive upgrade on Bruce, he does feel like a step back from some of the others we’re linked with. But.. in the time since Everton he’s gone on to work with some of the best players in the world and we should give him that benefit of doubt that he’s probably improved as a manager.

Fonseca is still my preference but I also understand the risks that are involved there, it could turn out to be a disaster. We simply don’t currently have the players to carry out how he sets his teams up. Can we afford to write off between now and January?

  19. The formation Fonseca likes to use can certainly be risky. If he gets the job, I would expect huge investment in the defence and midfield.

We could essentially be playing with 3 at the back so we’re going to need big boots to make us formidable there. He’ll try and take Ibañez from Roma and why not Koulibaly if he can be bought? Schär could also quite easily play on the right side of a back 3.

He plays wing backs but they play really high up so maybe Murphy gets a chance there?

I’d assume the existing squad (or some of them) are going to get a chance to stake a claim.. Lascelles, Clark, Fernandez, Lewis and Manquillo will be toast though.
