You'll have to get rid of the Laing then stifler, or are you rerouting the motorway?

Just to try to change the record a bit, which if any parts of town would you willingly sacrifice to get a new stadium in the fabled City Centre Zone? This is just light relief, I'm not looking for in depth reasons why any calls are unworkable and since this is just a thought experiment, money is no object you can't have Leazes Terrace though, obviously For me, buy up Eldon Square, Eldon Garden and Haymarket with Percy Street and consign them all to the history books where they belong, put a new mega stadium there. Literally nothing in that part of town I'd miss, assuming the bus station would move north. My mam would be angry at me sacrificing the ice cream shop if it's still there. Is there a better bit of the centre of Newcastle to do away with? East of Pilgrim Street might have worked if they hadn't already developed it

Take down Eldon Square and Eldon Garden, move them brick by brick to Sunderland and put it in the actual city centre while improving the place immeasurably
  4. It's looking increasingly like a no brainer I reckon. Personally have no interest in England and the way this season has gone I'm 95% sure he'll be shipped back to us in a box with his legs arriving separately, but it'll be good to see his emergence recognised
  5. I couldn't tell whether we could use them or not since it said home fans only and it wasn't immediately apparent whether I was in a home section or not. I'm sure it'll be fine though
  6. Ticket arrived today, pleasingly oldschool gan on the lasses

Would have probably created 12,000 jobs if they built it somewhere that didn't border the north sea

I feel like we're approaching my favourite period on RTG, when one or two are brave enough to post 'say what you like about the mags, their fans wouldn't settle for this and would be up in arms'. Always a wonderful debate, that one

Haven't been there for a while but it's a shame that abandoned area between Pitt Street and Westgate Road wasn't a bit bigger, that could have been a canny option just on the other side of the road (although admittedly even further from centre of town). Maybe make a few streets of houses an offer they can't refuse. Earl of Pitt Street could have been the new Strawberry Sikh gurdwara might be an issue there like
  12. I hadn't come up with a better solution than the Sainsbury one until I booked the hotel Hotel has parking but I can't check in until 2, hopefully I can leave my car earlier than that
  13. There's a fine looking country road just a bit south of the stadium which is where I was considering abandoning mine Looks like it's a popular choice
  14. traitors is serious business
  15. No, they've just got two home games left this season. If they're going to win it would be nice to do it in front of a big crowd I guess, so might be considered
  16. Booked a hotel in Luton rather than facing the drive there and back in a day. Of all the places I never expected to be spending a night, Luton was pretty high on the list but solves my car parking dilemma as well, long as I can park early
  17. I'm not sure it's massively more. Friend of mine is going to the Manchester derby at the Etihad and I'm sure she said she paid £34 for two tickets.
  18. Even Manchester City are only bringing in slightly higher numbers than us. Arsenal way out ahead in average attendance last time I looked, they must play a few at the Emirates or have regular access to a big stadium
  19. if you didn’t watch the match no amount of numbers will help you understand in any meaningful sense how it played out, imo
  20. I think people hate it because it's contrary to what a lot of people love about football - like Andy says, the wonder strike, the Gerrard slip, the unbelievable save. To try and reduce football to 'they should statistically have scored this many goals' is anathema to a lot of fans. There aren't that many metrics presented to fans during a game which are actually of any real value imo - you can count corners all you like but if they're all being floated to Mike Williamson you'd be better not having them
  21. That's really the beginning and the end of it for me. So much of football is about these things.
  22. It's a shit attempt to bring scientific rigour to Ando on Radio Newcastle going, "ahhhwwwhhhh, he's got to score". I prefer Ando's version
  23. xg man I honestly can't think of a more fucking worthless addition to the game
  24. Well done the lasses, again. Look forward to pushing for a subforum for them in the not too distant future.
