The biggest positive from today, aside from the win, was how well Willock, ASM and Isak linked up together. Exactly the kind of interchanges and attacking patterns that had been missing from our play after the restart, and a timely reminder of just how valuable Willock can be in transition. Would like to see us find a way to accommodate all three in the first XI going forward

Just got in from the game! this post is on the money! so much pace power and skill on the break today. throw a Diaby in for Murphy and you're cooking.

  2. I still love this man! I hope he comes back on Sunday a legend! We talk about Sir Bobby and how he was a gent, we're lucky to have this guy. It's still just over a year since he rocked up and fell into a steaming turd. Now we're off to a final.

  3. Top Drawer Left Back, DM, Winger/Wide Forward and a Goal Machine.

Then a few younger players to learn and fill out the Squad.

If we get Europe, we're gonna need a squad...

    Pope

    Trippier

    New LB

    Botman

    Schar

    New DM/Bruno

    Joelinton/Willock

    Bruno/Longstaff

    Isak/ASM

    New CF/Isak/Wilson

    New Winger/Gordon/Miggy

    Saying that I'd go...

    Tierney

    Alvarez/Sergej Milinković-Savić

    Maddison/Diaby

    Vlahovic

    200m should do it.... :)

Both Shelvey and Wood are good deals

I don’t think Anderson was to blame for both goals. The first goal was Trippiers fault for not holding the line. The second goal, may be, if you think Salah shouldn’t have any chance to have a touch on the ball. I would put more blame on Trippier again, or Schar for not spotting Gakpos run.

The lads did put in some effort but the form is dipping, obviously. Probably the pressure and fatigue finally caught the players

What's this!? factual critique....I blame Burn, Longstaff, Anderson! any fucker from Newcastle.

3 lapses in concentration, 1 massive one. Other than that we've been equal, playing half the half with 10.

The amount of entitled wet farts on here is growing by the week! Scapegoating any fucker!

Amazingly mine might have been Frank Pingel.

2-2 v Liverpool in 1989. Don't want to check in case it was Mirandinha who got the first.

Yes I’m sure opposing defenders haven’t been told to put him on his right side so he’ll cut back up the field as the opposition regroup. Love Miggy but 1 footed! His Magic foot has scored some sex goals mind :indi:

Agree! love Miggy too, just wish once in one hundred he would hit the byline and not cut back. I'm sure you can kick a ball with your wrong foot if you use it everyday.

    :)

  7. Everything he did, he did with intent and decisiveness. The confidence to take one touch and then play a pass at speed and move. He will link up with Bruno great. He instantly started to play off Big Joe a few times. It looked like he'd been here longer than Maxi the way he integrated. Excited to see more...Hopefully he starts next game. I'd go Gordon, Wilson, Isak - left to right. Almiron's right foot issue is boiling my blood now.

Dan Burn at LB is one of the reasons we have kept so many cleans sheets.

Why would that matter? lol some folk on here ffs...

According to a few Maxi's problems are everyones fault but his own...Burn not attacking enough, Bruno not playing, Wood when he played.

How any one can point blame at Burn is madness, best defence in Europe and he's been huge! Yesterday he was poor, but still fine. We picked up when Gorden came on and the link up with midfield became quicker again. One touch etc. Not sure Maxi knows what that is tbh. And thats not Burns fault.

anyone else notice Jones and Tindall chatting it up with Rice after the whistle? Willock and then Tripps n’all.

he was immense today. which reminds me… weren’t people on here turning their noses up at him? my gosh. goodness gracious me.

Ran the show. Like I said in the Match Thread, never rated him that highly but he'd be the perfect fit for us. He's a much better footballer than I thought, his reading of the game and breaking down play was impressive today.

I’m not sure what people are expecting from a player who hasn’t started a league game since August . He needs minutes and sharpness, that much is clear.

He also needs to come and show to the ball, cover back and not do a half arsed run then let players shoot on sight. It's a little unnatural and forced to do anything other than get the ball and dribble.

If the game is stretched he's great, but he does not fit this team and the way we play, unfortuately.
