  1. https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/exclusive-amanda-staveley-on-her-ambitions-for-newcastle-united-steve-bruces-future-and-her-message-to-fans-3412282 Asked if she had considered walking away, Staveley said: “I didn’t think it would be quite this difficult! “But I have to say it’s worth it. It’s worth every sleepless night, because we are there, and we’re just excited about starting the work we need to start. “Some days, I think, a year ago, there was some pretty dark days, and I thought ‘we’re not going to get there’. You just have to dust yourself off. My dad says ‘you never give up’. Asked if a decision had been made on the future of Bruce, Staveley added: “At the moment, no. "We really need to assess what we have, what we need, and how we’re going to build this, and how we’re going to build the club up. We’ve got to get investment into the Academy, investment into the training ground, into players. "We’ve got an incredible group of players, but they need nurturing. It’s not just about investment into managers and individual players, it’s about looking at a plan that works together … that will get us to the top of the Premier League. “We appreciate the gem we’re custodians of, and we’ll make sure that every single part of this club is dusted down, and we’ll invest in all levels. We’ve got to. It’s critical. It can’t happen without that. "Please, rest assured we understand we’ve got a big job to do, and we’re not scared of rolling up our sleeves and getting on with it quickly. But, sometimes, we don’t want to make hasty decisions when we don’t know where we are today and what we have.
  2. PIF have spoken https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-open-letter-supporters-21800018 "There has been a lot written about the investment we have made in the Club and we know you are keen to know more from us about this important stage in your Club’s history. "First of all, I want to stress that we are incredibly proud to be the custodians of an institution like Newcastle United. "This is your Club. "It has been at the heart of the community for more than 125 years – there are season ticket holders today who are following in the footsteps of their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. "As the new owners, we will listen to the community. "Owning this club is not a responsibility we have taken on lightly and we will never lose sight of what it means to be part of Newcastle United. "I also wanted to give you an understanding of what you can expect from us as owners and what our plans are for your club at this stage. "Most importantly, you can expect ambition. "Like you, we want to create a consistently successful team. "We’re here to build long-term success for the club. "What will that look like in practice? "First and foremost, we want to talk to people at the Club and across the wider community to get their input before we finalise our plans. "We will make sure to focus on things that will deliver long-term success. "Whilst we are newcomers to Newcastle, we are investing alongside people who have been committed to this Club and this city for many years. "Amanda Staveley’s PCP Capital Partners is a key part of our investment group. Jamie Reuben and his family are already significant investors in the city of Newcastle."
  3. Yeah Fonseca's still free
  4. FFP's meant to be reworked soon https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12380096/uefa-set-to-overhaul-financial-fair-play-rules-later-this-year-with-a-luxury-tax-and-salary-cap-being-considered "UEFA wants the new rules to focus on the high levels of spending on wages and transfers and it is considering introducing a salary cap and a luxury tax on transfers."
  5. Gerrard's surely primed for Liverpool after Klopp. Give him a few years to try and consolidate power in Scotland and if that works out it'll work a dream when Klopp leaves (2024 I think? 2023?)
  6. Hahaha imagine, McClaren Rafa Bruce and Conte in that order
  7. Italian media can't vouch for reliability
  8. Guardian say Conte's top of the list. Mail did say Rodgers was only touted as an option
  9. Daily Mail report just now had that fee, consortium happy to pay it
  10. £8m to pay him off! Probably includes the other Steves and maybe Graeme but it's big money for the club that went "above and beyond" to sign Willock using installments paid via a sell-on clause
  11. "I think whoever took over from Rafa, it was going to be tough," said Bruce. "I don’t think people wanted me from the start, in the local media and the fans. It has been incredibly draining emotionally at times, very hard. Not just for me but for my whole family, who are all Geordies and who are all Newcastle fans."
  12. The consortium have been reading the forums, they know fine well what he's delivered
