  1. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/09/01/frustrated-angry-steve-bruce-seeking-answers-newcastle-uniteds/ Good to know we didn't spend a penny of the actual budget Newcastle simply would not pay the loan fee for Choudhury, which is thought to have been around £1.5m and cover the cost of his wages, even though they have slashed the wage bill by around £200,000-a-week this summer. Sources have revealed that the excuse given to Choudhury and Leicester for the breakdown in talks - even though the player was desperate to join - was that Emil Krafth refused to join Championship side Fulham on Tuesday afternoon. The answer is straightforward. Newcastle did not have any more money in their bank account and simply refused to borrow, either from the owner Mike Ashley in the form of interest-free loans or from a bank. That is how most clubs have managed to do business this summer. Charnley had already persuaded Justin Barnes, the man who effectively has the final say on decisions as Ashley's man at St James’ Park, to break the club policy of paying for players in one lump sum, getting Arsenal to agree to receive their £22m for Willock in instalments. The sale of Florian Lejuene to Alaves and a windfall payment from the £15m deal that took their former academy striker Adam Armstrong from Blackburn to Southampton paid for the initial instalment. The bottom line is that Ashley and Barnes did not think there were any essential repairs needed because if the squad had stayed up last season, Bruce should be able to do that again.
  2. Chronicle's policy is to be a one-stop shop for Newcastle news so they'll post anything related to the club however tenuous. Some of the posts are taken straight from Twitter comments to fill up space which really is telling! Ryder's had moments but it's never sustained enough to be anything than an emotionally charged reaction to a game
  3. We sell players in instalments I assume as it's common practice yet "break the rules" when buying via the same thing. We buy up front usually which I think is the reason we don't have money. Waiting for scraps to come in to fund one targeted player each summer, 2 if we're lucky. Genuinely feel like signing Lewis last year came from the metaphorical pot for this summer hence the scramble to fund Willock using instalments however they could. (Tbf Arsenal didn't want a loan they wanted perm so that or nothing)
  4. Daily Star think we've had a good window https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league-transfers-best-worst-24883235 9: Newcastle United - A quiet window but that may be a good thing as Steve Bruce looks to build on last season’s 12th-placed finish. Joe Willock’s permanent move and the Santiago Munoz’s loan, straight from Goal , will have fans smiling.
  5. "Above and beyond" to bring Willock in. The mass hysteria the histrionics, is really unjustified
  6. Chronicle had an article saying there were "some words said" at half-time (taking that at literal value of course there would be) so he must've been there
  7. Think our 1st target was Arteta. If Arsenal got rid by the point Bruce leaves, we'd go for him again "Mikel Arteta stating: ‘I was considering a situation at Newcastle United…I made the decision to stay where I was (at Manchester City) at the time.’"
  8. Any manager with sense would laugh at Ashley's Newcastle if they offered. You don't get control over signings as was a big sticking point with Rafa, you don't get your facilities invested into (£0.2m in 19/20, the year after Rafa who made it his priority left) nor does the owner actually communicate - you've got to talk via the 1 director Charnley who himself is a yes-man
  9. Not in the line-up tonight for U23
  10. Newcastle United are trying to complete two late loan deals in the form of Marseille’s exciting French midfielder Boubcar Kamara and have also revived their interest in Leicester City’s Hamza Choudhury. Tension has been running high on Tyneside all day after the club briefed before lunchtime that they had concluded their transfer business for the summer. That was thought to have come as Leicester were asking for too much for a loan fee for Choudhury, but have since returned to the table as the player is desperate to make the move. Some late pressure from manager Steve Bruce has also led to a rethink and talks are ongoing as they race to complete negotiations and paperwork on both deals. Kamara is a France Under-21 international who has been heavily linked with Newcastle for several weeks without much appearing to happen in terms of concluding a deal. The 21-year-old has mainly played as a defensive midfielder but can also drop into the centre of defence. Whether both players arrive before the window remains shut but sources have told Telegraph Sport that there is confidence at least one new player will be confirmed before the deadline. Meanwhile, Sweden international Emil Krafth has rejected a move to Fulham as he wants to remain in the Premier League.
  11. I'll listen to his arrival interview. Half of it'll be how good Rafa has been for his development how he can't wait to reunite and all that
  12. That's Jones in the car with him
  13. He shared that his mother will accompany him to Tyneside to help him settle into his new life. In the meantime, the Mexican-American teenage phenom is aching to show the world his abilities. “I’ve never been (to England) but I can already imagine what it’s like,” Muñoz said. “I’m looking forward to seeing the club’s facilities. From the talks that we’ve had (with Newcastle), they’ve told me that they’re going to support me. They know I’m young and they’re going to help with my continued development. I’m going to work hard. I know I’m really young, but that won’t deter me from doing big things (in England). I’m on to the next dream, but (Santos) helped me reach my first dream.” My condolences on the bold bit
  14. “Without Club Santos I would not continue to achieve my dreams. I make him promise to leave it high, I want to leave it high all over the world, as players who have left here have done. This dream belongs to both of us, the Club and me, I will always be grateful ”, said the attacker. Dante Elizalde, Executive President of Club Santos Laguna, highlighted that this transfer confirms the values of the institution and its focus on the development of young talents, helping them to meet their professional goals, in addition to confirming the strategic vision from Orlegi Sports, with the development and talent training to strengthen the industry nationally and internationally ”. “Everyone at the Club wishes“ Santi ”the best of luck in England. We are proud to be part of his development and the fulfillment of his dream of playing in Europe. "We are proud that players developed under our Win-Serving philosophy are enjoying successful careers, and in the case of" Santi ", being transferred to a top-tier league like the Premier League and a prestigious club like Newcastle United." he commented. Side note, the Orlegi Group wanted to buy Newcastle, the Mexican group that I wouldn't mind having assuming the PIF bid entirely dissipates. They want a PL club too https://www.skysports.com/football/story-telling/11095/12303735/alejandro-irarragorri-wants-to-bring-mexicos-multi-club-structure-to-the-premier-league
