  1. https://theathletic.com/news/newcastle-agree-fee-with-arsenal-to-sign-joe-willock-subject-to-personal-terms/2Ys86vE9lQve Sean Longstaff’s Newcastle future will now come into question, with Rafa Benitez, his former manager who is now at Everton, monitoring his situation. Matty Longstaff, too, is likely to depart on loan. The Times also linked Sean with a move, the swap for Tom Daives I think has been put somewhere as well

    Joe Willock

Yeah was the Athletic too. We might not spend £5m on 3 players, but can spend £20m on 1 player if it's "the right one" in their mind

    Joe Willock

    But before he heads off

  5. Repeat the same things every week and eventually it'll pay off. We're as strong as we finished the season, in reality a little less due to deadwood leaving but I'd argue negligible loss. Now to strengthen for real
  6. He fears that exposing this "cartel" might make PIF uncertain because they'd be investing into a tarnished brand, as for delays to PL arbitration "nobody knows." He's right on that second point.
  7. So if we get a Keith update later (Sky Keith not takeover Keith) then we'll be sure
  8. From the line-up I think it's Wraith's podcast so arguably (edit: Waleed who comes on all the time on Wraith's channel)
  9. Explains why the PIF to Inter interest surfaced, they need desperate investment to keep them going
  10. Serious financial problems. Suning are the majority owners and for whatever reason won't invest in the team https://www.forbes.com/sites/giacomogalardini/2021/05/20/us-investment-firm-oaktree-capital-signs-336-million-financing-deal-with-serie-a-champions-fc-inter/?sh=74c5360431c3 "Suning has been seeking fresh investment to shore up their finances, especially after last January, when changes in economic planning made by the Chinese government further complicated the owner’s liquidity. The club has been in financial dire straits due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as matches are played behind closed doors and several companies cut sponsorship budgets." Also Suning owned Chinese champions Jiangsu but the club disbanded earlier this year because of the financial trouble
  11. Expected in Paris for a medical today/tomorrow morning. Also Spurs finally spending serious cash
  12. I love the Ryder diary thread on Toontastic, that shows you Knight Ryder's talents. Favourite was when we were signing Rondon and updated us with the following
  13. Messi has a press conference in 5 mins
  14. Pickford had a few moments to forget it looks like, for Everton it feels like he's a different player compared to England.
  15. As we're waiting for the jurisdiction appeal now (end of September) and the other case stayed until next year, is there much point in this thread in the meantime? Positive one too fwiw
  16. Football fans are so short-sighted aren't they for the most part? Brighton was the turning point for the season and started Willock's 7 in 7 run, which bailed us in the second half. Wilson carried us if not for Willock's heroics. After Brighton 95% of the Chronicle surveyors wanted Bruce out. Few months later and we're deluded into thinking he's done respectably for keeping up clear, never in doubt was it?? Give it a few defeats in the actual season, it'll be back
