The way I'd hope it would work would be as follows: 1) Sit down and review current contract length, wages, terms. 2) Review medical recommendations (assuming a report was requested, I'd hope so) regarding short and long term prognosis. 3) Call in Eddie and discuss his thoughts regarding an extension, needs, value, future plans for him if any. 4) Make the call to either offer an extension, try and sell or let his contract run down.

This should be a tough game with the Bournemouth marathon. For these mid-week games I usually clear my calendar or I may delegate a meeting but 30 minutes after kickoff I have a video conference for end of year review with my boss which is not something I can escape. Oh well, hopefully we have a lead. The funny thing is his boss is a HUGE city fan all his life so will likely have his meeting schedule blocked. I'll probably get a teams message from him as he knows I'm a Newcastle fan. Pinged me a few times last year.
