I admit I’m a hypocrite, want him and couldn’t give a fuck, difference is we did is with decency I reckon as we put a bid in and just left it, no snide stories to the press or whatever we just stepped away and let it be, sick of us doing this properly and getting shit on by other clubs whose selling hotels, women’s teams, a billion in debt and running to the press. Is it his going on strike, flying home early from their training camp or demanding meetings with their chairman and refusing to train or play in the friendly or even turn up when he reportedly only lives four miles away after Eddie Howe came out and said he’s not a replacement for Isak but more for Wilson that makes you think he won’t be happy fighting for a place alongside Isak? Again he’s apparently played for 28 grand a week and done it for years and now has a chance at both CL football and in front of our crowds.

It’s worse in forums - using the same analogy on forums people look for that same forecast just to say “it is 100% going to be 35 degrees today, bbc said so and ITV are wankers and wrong” just for others to say “no mate - ITV are correct, BBC haven’t a clue so it’s going to rain”. None of us, including most online journalists don’t know - only difference between us is the journalists probably don’t care.

You mean Crystal Palace aren’t direct rivals with Man City 😁 - I agree with you for what it’s worth and I never expected any of our players to retire here and if we could sell for a profit and learn to do it well and use that to grow us but not become known for just that like Brighton are ie get the balance right then great. I had no problems with selling Minteh for example ands thought the meltdown of some was insane but we’ve been brought up in a time of the shearer where players retired for their boyhood club, not like that any more and never will be.

Agreed- referring to the highest open play goal scorer in the premier league last season, 19 goals and none are penalties, Brentford’s highest ever premier goal scorer and a man whose still single single figures for premier league games missed due to injury as “a last resort” is a massive case of self entitlement for me. So what if he is a step down from Isak, who the fuck isn’t. And on top of that he’s done all of this for around 30 grand a week and been cool about it until we came knocking. I want him - end of as far as I’m concerned.

With him not playing yesterday ands a few days for realisation to settle for Brentford I’d come in, offer a bit more say £35m so they can look like they’ve saved face and get it done personally

That’s fine for Liverpool as they have the players to rotate, rest him and protect him - we’re running him into the Knackers yard due to lack of choices, I’ve seen games we were 4 - 0 up and still couldn’t bring him off for a rest. Not saying keep him as I hate what he’s done but even having Wissa could potentially get so much more out of Isak throughout the season.
