What a kick in the teeth it would be for Tonali to come in as our first signing and then see the only other signings come in after him being Lindstrøm, Reiss Nelson and Connor Gallagher on loan.

The middle third shows just how much of a "carrier" he is rather than a passer. Very similar to Joelinton in that respect. The blocks being so high is interesting aswell, is that blocking of shots or is that blocking of any pass or cross?

Whatever NUFC media team are cooking up for the Tonali reveal is going to feel like such an anticlimax.

I'll hang fire on being to annoyed about not getting Szoboszlai until I find out how much Liverpool are paying. If its less than £50M I'll be disappointed.

I think it's great. Good colour, even if it is quite grass green and the design makes it stand out a little more and reminds me of that orange third kit we had not long ago. Good job on this IMHO.

Anderson doesn't really but Guehi is quick. Not the quickest CB by any means but I'd say from watching him he's faster than all of Schar, Botman, Burn and Trippier so that's a start. Neither of them are very potent in the opposition box though unfortunately, which is something we desperately need to improve on.

I do like Andersen, I think he's a great rotation option for Schar but Guehi is next level up from him and is obviously far more of a long term option. All depends on the difference in fee for them but Guehi could arguably get a 6yr deal whereas Andersen probably get 3yrs maximum so an extra £25/30M to get Guehi instead of Andersen (quoted at £20M) is worth it IMHO. I'd be happy with either of them as I do think Andersen is better passer and dictator from defence but Guehi is better in his all round game and provides some much needed pace in our back line.

That's a damn good signing got Villa. Extremely surprised by it as well. There going to have a really decent defensive unit this season.

Also if true, £12M and getting rid of Fraser is a great deal.

People have said it plenty already but having a top quality back up to Trippier (who can cover LB when needed also) is a huge deal considering how much of our play goes down that right hand side.

Possibly. That will all depend how fit he can be over the remainder of his contract. If we can get 25+ appearances per season out of him then it's been worth it, if not then it was (in hindsight) a mistake. Chances are if we don't sign ANY strikers this summer, next summer is when we'll need to go big for one.

Neither Haaland or Alavarez are injury prone like Wilson though. That's why most people have such an issue with going into the season with only 2 recognised strikers. No reason you can't find a young player who won't take up a squad place and can cover the striker position but aslo either wide position. Its by no means the most important area that we need to address but it does need addressing at some point.

Gordon was the player who came to mind immediately if we are talking about who takes up that central role if Wilson and Isak are both unavailable. Obviously Joelinton could also but we need him elsewhere. I do however think we need another attacking reinforcement and I'm expecting to see a decent young striker signed towards the end of the window to bolster the squad.

I call BS on this story. He saw Maldini get the sack and I imagine that was enough for him to decide he didn't want to work under those owners.

Maddison absolutely transforms Spurs midfield. Aside from Bentancur and Bissouma (maybe) their midfield is old/slow and uncreative. They need him more than we do yet they seem to be stalling which makes me think they don't want to pay that £50/£60M either. I'm imagining when Maddison is signed by whoever it is, it will be a few weeks down the line from now when Leicester concede and lower the price.

Wasn't all that bothered about Chiesa but I've just made the mistake of watching about 10 minutes worth of clips and I'm convinced now. Plus I feel bad for Tonali coming here with no friends, I feel like we need another Italian. Like with Guinea Pigs, you can't just keep one of them on their own.
