He'd absolutely be doing the right thing choosing Scotland over England at this point. He's not going to get into that England team in the next 5/6 years with the players already in his position.
-
Well that's guaranteed Joelinton is in the team against Villa then.
-
I think it's too late for that. But we do desperately need a CB.
-
-
No firepower without Miggy and Anderson.
-
Record number of red and yellow cards for an opening day of Prem season is incoming I reckon.
-
Arguably Villa are better stocked overall than we are. We have individually better players in Botman, Bruno and Isak but I think they have a deeper quality squad.
-
West Ham fans got it rough this summer. After winning a European Cup they are about to have £130M come in for player sales and not have spent a single penny of it.
-
I'd go for 9/10 if we get Livramento AND a CB. Bringing in a LB is the only way to make it 10/10. Still hopeful that once Livramento comes in we can bring another top quality signing in (£40m or so) and then at least one decent loan (Lewis Hall/Felix/Chiesa).
-
I'd say Livramento signing means Trippier will spend more games on the bench than he ever will at LB.
-
Same reason they let De Bruyne and Salah go maybe? De Bruyne was 22 and Salah was 21 when they were deemed not good enough for Chelsea, so they were older than Livramento was but Chelsea are notoriously overstocked with youth players and they can't all hang around after 18yrs old, some need to leave, and £5M with 50% sell on probably seemed to good to turn down.

Is Cental Left Midfield Pressing Wing Forward Attacker not a positon?
-
He's 20yrs old, if he's still playing here regularly in 5 seasons then £40M is well worth it. Same applies for Gordon as well. We've got them under contract right into their peak years with (I would imagine) contract extension clauses built in to protect the club if they do well.
-
He's going to get so much grief from fans and potentially opposing players. Rightly so, but you have to wonder what Man Utd are thinking, its such a bad move from them.
-
Looking back at those games last season when we struggled against Leeds/Bournemouth/Palace etc, it wasn't breaking teams down we actually had a problem with, it was putting the fucking chances away. We had so many chances in those games and just didn't take them, that's the big difference.
-
Just under 6ft then, that sounds about right. Fairly normal for a full back, they aren't often over 6ft.
-
Its admirable from Southampton in alot of ways but also, they're leaving it so late to bring players in if they let all 3 of them go. They'll be into their third game of the season before they know whose coming or going.
-
I said it in another thread but Tripper is 33 in a couple of months, even with the fact he's an absolute professional, there's no way he can play in 40+ games. He made 38 league appearances last season and that's the most he's made for any club since Burnley in 14/15. The games he misses we sorely lack any quality at RB, Livramento adds this and fills the spot for the next 5 years minimum. Its good for Tripps as well, we're better of having him in peak condition for 25 games than stretched out and underperforming over 38 games.
-
Not just the injuries either, Trippier is 33 soon. He may well be an absolute professional but that won't mean he can play 40+ games in a season. Livramento or another quality RB is essential to our season.
-
Gordon starts over Barnes I reckon. Barnes wont have had enough training time and Gordon needs to be playing whilst his confidence is rocketing and he's playing out his skin.
-
Could've just signed Barella and Di Marco and Chiesa, that would've been more productive overall.
-
Yes absolutely I would be. Partly owing to the rise of Miley (staying here and proving an extra body for early cup games etc) and the fact Anderson is seemingly going to provide way more than he did last year. If it weren't for those two coming on massively this pre season I'd have wanted another CM/CAM to come in. The RCB needs to be younger and quality though (Disasi, off to Chelsea now unfortunately) or at the very least similar profile to Schar with Premier League experience (Adarabioyo/Andersen).
-
Eddie Howe and/or Jason Tindall getting a red card in this game for sure. I'm putting a bet on it ASAP. Not allowed more than 1 coach in the technical area anymore and there's some stupid rule about who can stand up in the dugout. Definitely going to cause some issues for alot of coaching staff this season.
-
Surely someone coming in soon if Ashby has already left for Swansea.
-
The reasonable thing to do with Wilson is see how he gets on up to January and then decide on a new deal. If he's injured again up until then we'll perhaps there's the answer we needed. I'd be perfectly happy with him signing a 1yr extension if he does well in the next 6 months but next Summer, regardless of if he's here or not we still need to bring in another top quality striker.
