Both full internationals and clearly good enough for the Prem with other prem clubs interested. Saves us a chunk of money but they will improve our squad massively. Both been playing excellent and Derby’s best players, Knight is only 20 as well.
-
Grimaldo would be an immense signing. Tom Lawrence also linked, on 37k a week at derby, offer them a few mil for him who’s out of contract in the summer that’ll dig them out a hole. Throw in Jason Knight too 10 million double deal.

Ach well. Seems another week without signings that are much needed. Which is disappointing as we could be doing with fresh faces liven the place up and boost our chances against Leeds a very winnable game same as last week with Watford. Should have been working on multiple positions and players from before January but it seems we are struggling to do so, only concentrating on one deal at a time. Why was the likes of Lingard availability not explored last week instead of Wednesday which has now dragged into today with not much further. If we got even one in before Saturday then most would be content as we know it’s a struggle and it was always going to go down to the wire with signings. Just pretty underwhelming when we should have had a big push at the start before Watford and Leeds then panic at the end. If we somehow manage to take 3 points off Leeds I’ll stop complaining.

An improvement is an improvement simple as that. Leno coming in is a very big upgrade to dubravka especially this season. May not be the position we need but hey it’s something.
-
He’s a winger, decent player though. Can’t be any worse than we have... change of scenery could work out but I’ll repeat for 500 GRAND.
-
There’s Watford just signed a decent winger from Bordeaux for 500k. 500 GRAND. Why are we that dumb not to be involved in these type of transfers.

What’s so difficult in agreeing a fee in the one day we have a maximum price we are willing to pay if it’s not acceptable move on.
-
Am I being really stupid or when contacting clubs say “we will offer X amount” - “No we want Y or close to Y” “How about Z” “Z + few add ons” why does it take so long to agree a fee surely the person at the club who sanctions the transfers just tells them we will start with X but the max we go is Z if not move on all can be done in a day surely or am I being really silly.

If we can get Carlos that’s massive. Another player or real quality in the middle of the park and it’s a massive turn in the way of survival. Add into we are actively looking at strikers (Zapata). After that even if we bring in some players that are even remotely a slight upgrade on the current crop eg. Joe Rodon, Nat Phillips then it’s a huge boost. Highly expect if we get even 1 in this week then the last few days will be mental buys and loans.

Got to take a look at some championship players 10 mil max. Hungry and see it as a step closer to the top. They play outstanding they are the next big thing and a huge part of the project here...
-
Not even stop gaps just identify the player and tap them up pretty early. Trippier for example, we pretty much had him eyed up for a month or so, why was other positions not identified precisely of who was available and better than what we had.
-
In my opinion if there’s interest in Schar let him leave once we get in a CB or 2 no point having deadwood and if there’s interest better to let them go. Can see us hopefully announcing something tomorrow or Wednesday.

More and more I think about it the more I like the idea of Jason Knight from Derby. They’ve got 10 days or they are out the game. Give them say 4/5 million that’s a big game changer for them. He instantly improves our team in middle of the park and for a small price compared to others we are linked with. I want the big names as much as anyone else but 1 or 2 relatively lower expectancy signings turn out the best.

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.footballtransfertavern.com/newcastle-united-transfer-rumours/transfer-news-hans-hateboer-atalanta/amp/ Quite like this one too comes in and provides some versatility too.
-
He certainly could be but he’s better than anything we have right now, got to look for bargains in some positions. Derby captain and ROI full international.
-
Jason Knight from Derby linked. That’s a player that we should be all over, quoted for 8 million. Derby in the shit and need the cash, take 5/6. He’d certainly be hungry I think and been one of there best players this season.

Stuff this nonsense of waiting about til the last week if other clubs can get 2/3 in during a week so can we. Get a CB or 2 but hopefully a CB and CM in before Leeds. Even though Leeds are poor there pressing etc will run over the top of our midfield we need a few more fresh faces. Pick up 3 points against Leeds then the last week just go daft few loans, and anything else that may come up but I’ve been saying for ages the value for players is definitely out there. Players like Kurzawa etc are available well below 10 million. Larin and Azmoun going for 5ish but we sign a declining PL player for 25 it is really frustrating. You type in left backs on transfermarket and there’s many attainable players to be had.
-
Cyle Larin on the move for €5 million, why were we not all over that. Not too fussed about Wood but there’s player out there much better value.
-
Kurzawa 5-10million
-
4 points from our next 2 games and by deadline day players will be desperate to join. Can see us going pretty wild on deadline day to be honest chucking them out the door. Personally think we should be utilising the loan to buy option with players such as Arthur from Juventus. We stay up he signs on a hefty contract and involved in our major project, we go down he goes back to Juve...
-
He’d come in be a starter or give Lewis a challenge for left back. Player of real quality and experience be maybe a leader as such as he’s a winner, him and ASM both French
-
Just match or up their bid he’d be brilliant
-
What’s crazy to me is why we haven’t explored Layvin Kurzawa am I right in saying he is available and had interest from Watford. Cracking player UCL experience and won’t be anywhere near the values we’ve seen chucked about with him being in their squad fringes.
-
Surely we go for Joe rodon
-
What I don’t understand is us paying 20-25 million for Chris wood but not willing to offer an extra few quid for the likes of Botman etc. If that was the case we just paid required for the quality then nobody would care about the price of Wood.
