How is it obvious when its Howe who brought him in and kept him as #1 for 3 years? Wouldn't mind someone better with the feets myself.

Rather want someone like Miley and possibly other young talents in then. Longstaff needs time to build up his confidence before he is of any use based on previous experience. Pretty useless when he comes on for some minutes or a game here and there.

God forbid something happens to Tonali or Bruno. But considering that Eddie even changed formations to avoid using one of our backup CMs I think he is probably well aware of the need we have of more quality depth there.

So Tonali likes Longstaff as a person and tries to build up his confidence. Nice of him, but other than that not that interesting.

Remember that next season we will get rid of the 22/23 season were we had a loss of over £70m. With CL (and sales of Kelly and Almiron) im confident that we have a lot of room to operate in PSR wise.

We need a bigger squad, so if we only have £100m we cant spend half of it on one player. Not that I believe the £100m number, maybe if we hadn't made CL.

,This season just showed that Eddie is now too big to put him into the place the club wanted him to be in. He will be the main man now which leaves little place for egos the size of Mitchells. Cant have too many cooks in the kitchen. Think we will live and die with Eddie now and just accept that there will be a transitional period after he leaves, which hopefully wont be for a long time. Think the best thing about a dominant sporting director is that they will think more about the long term future while managers often want players with an immediate impact. But I think the same can be achieved with Eddie if we make a big long term commitment to him. Not saying we should give him Caesar like powers, but there shouldnt be any single person above him atleast when is comes to decisions surrounding our playing staff.

He might have demanded a pretty hefty contract if its true that the release clause is alot lower than his market value. If so it would pricy for a straight up backup for the forseable future.

I cant see the logic in that good finishers only scores what's in line with their XG. Thats not a good finisher to me(atleast not consistant), but average. Doubt that Solskjær or Shearer just scored what was expected. But i wouldn't expect Mbeumo to replicate his level of overperformance from this season. He wouldn't need to to justify a 50-60m price tag. Getting 20+ non-penalty goals+assist is quite rare. He is also very hard working, reliable and one of the fastest player in the league(exciting!). For us he also fills two roles, being a backup to Isak and competition for Murphy. How much would we else have to pay to get a decent backup to Isak? We really need one considering his recurring groin injuries.

Feel like outscoring his xg is a positive. Tells me he is a good finisher. Should get more oppurtunities with us. Wouldn't expect 20 goals by all means. 20 goals+assists maybe.

Going to be a little pissed off if we dont get a CM. Lack of quality depth is going to hurt us so bad with CL.
