Why is Ayoze being booed?? Strange behaviour
-
A bit like Chris Wood then? Does a lot of hard work down his side, makes good runs and shows flashes of quality at times. That move early this half summed him up perfectly for me, great run and movement to get into a good position but just hits the potentially killer pass to ASM a bit behind him, he’s not consistent in the final third but that doesn’t make him useless.
-
He’s had a good half, lacks quality at times but he’s not a bad player at all
-
That should stand
-
I think we really miss Willock today, we miss his runs and are just lacking that energy in the press from the get go. I've said before I cant see how Bruno and Shelvey fit in the same 11.
-
Caught out easily there, shite

Wait. Arnt you the person who disagreed with me yesterday when I said 150m and then you told me it will be 'a fuck ton more'? So if 150 is massive what would you call what you are expecting?
-
Some people have been saying it will be much more than 150ish , and yes 150m is a massive spend but not compared to January, our wealth and more importantly it still leaves us with alot of wiggle room with FFP going forward. For what I think we need to prioritise this summer 150 will be about right. The key positions for me are CB, CM, RW and ST. Those are the 4 that should take up the biggest chunk of our spending, priority being the attacking positions. If you look at the goals during our good run alot of them had some fortune about them or were out and out set pieces or both, a couple deflected FKs, a couple of own goals etc. We really lack fluid attacking movement on the right side, and the left only looks good when ASM is playing and in some good form.. how different would we have looked with Wilson instead of Wood? Defo better but as we know hes not to be relied on because of his fitness issues. Frasers a good workhorse and has been playing out of his skin for us under Howe but the quality just isnt there most of the time, this position could be massively upgraded for no transfer spend in Lingaard (would be big on wages but not out of our range).
-
I was saying yesterday it will be over 100m but no more than 150m, anyone whos expecting a massive spend of a few hundred million will be disappointed.
-
I know questions have been asked over their new ownership but I wouldnt expect them to sack him now. Who are they going to get? Allardyce?
-
Might be a tad early to be calling Bruno elite but I know you mean.
-
We need to remember that January was also a very desperate situation at the time but I know the summer window is generally more easy going so it might balance that out a bit.
-
Yeah this is pretty much how I see it, and our squad is massively stronger just off of those players you listed. It would be epic to see us splash 250/300m but its just not realistic at all.
-
I hope you are right but there simply has to be a balance to it, we cant go and sign 4/5 top players this summer on bigger wages than our current core of players - it just doesnt work that way.
-
Yeah very unlikely that we spend like that this summer, I think it terms of money spent and the quality of players signed it won’t be a whole lot different than the Jan window. No way will we spend anywhere over 150m (I’d be suprised if it was that high), it’s going to take a season or two of moderate spending in comparison to our owners wealth.. we need to build the core of the squad and more importantly the wage structure for a couple of seasons before we move into spending huge money on established players.
-
Nunez isnt realistic at this point
-
I disagree, depending on the contract I think we could make very good use of Zapata for 3 seasons despite the age and physical attributes. He was kind of an example anyway, I was saying much like Trippier we will be looking at players of that age not just 20-24 year olds with potential to fulfill. Paqueta, Diaby and Haidara are on contracts at £40-50k a week at their current clubs, a move to the premier league (and us specifically) would have them looking at contracts well over £100k a week which we just wont see as realistic for at least another season or two. Antony is fair enough, I actually thought he was on more than £20k a week.. for the foreign players we are looking at it will be those of around that number (20-30k pw) whos wage we can triple and the money will still be reasonably around the same as the current core of our squad. Completely agree with what you are saying about the competition we will face from other clubs in the summer and I think that will price us out of moves for the likes of the players I mentioned even more so, Antony will have alot of suitors that might offer him more than the 60-70k pw that we will.. Villa signed Bailey last summer and he is on 90k+ pw, Fabio Silva at Wolves the same. Brining in 4/5 new young players on that kind of money will likely just upset our squad and our current players will want their slice of the pie, it will take 2/3 more windows to get to the point where we can offer contracts of 100k+.
-
Also an outlay of at least £250m to still be starting Schar and Burn!
-
Players in the bracket like Paqueta, Antony, Diaby, Haidara.. I’d consider us lucky to secure even one of these names, they will all be looking for big wages with a move to the PL let alone to a club with the financial clout that we are believed to have now. All young players from foreign leagues with apparent potential behind them will not typically fall into our current wage structure. People will point to Bruno but he is more of an exception than the rule, I think we were fortunate to sign him at all especially during the winter window. Players like Eze and Trossard will seem underwhelming to some but they fit well for the next season, sensible proven worth buys and the likes of Trossard is also a massive upgrade on Murphy for example. I still want Zapata and I think a deal like that could be done, he is ready made for the prem and at 30 he will take one last bigger contract than he has right now (currently £55k pw).
-
A good summer and finish at 50+ points next season, a whole season of building this team into what he wants it to be and preparing for a top 7 push the season after.
-
I think of the players we will be looking to offload the only ones we might struggle to shift for any money at all will be Gayle (35k a week) and Hendrick (40k a week) we might see them both loaned out rather than sold. The others (Lewis, Clark, Hayden, Krafth) should at least command a fee, somewhere around 10m for the lot of them.. more importantly we get their wages shifted off our books. We won’t see a massive overhaul of players, the 6 above at most maybe 7 if we go for a new GK.
-
I think that squad is pretty weak on the defensive side, seems like they have been crying out for a high quality CB for a few seasons now having said that their team is good enough to be staying in the league over probably 5/6 other squads.. its the mentality of the players that will cost them rather than ability. Lampard still shouldn’t be getting another premier league job if he takes them down though, that’s for sure.
-
I can really see Everton dropping after that Burnley loss, they look absolutely dogshit and not sure any of those players have the bollocks to pull them out of it.. we know Burnley do. So many question marks over Lampard and their squad where as Burnley are more of a known quantity.
-
Huge 3 points, a massive showing of how our mentality as a team has grown under Howe coming off of 3 losses and a fucking spanking off Spurs we bounce back by grinding out a big win. The first half was what it was, they sat back in a well organised low block that most teams in the world would struggle to break down (despite the pissing and moaning on here). 2nd half they tried to play some football and we could have had 2 on the break, they didnt want to come out and play our press so overall a very solid performance. Bruno immaculate, so happy Wood got a goal for all his hard work and looking forward to Leicester now.

Get in, happy the lads got a reward for all he does for this side
