He’s supposedly been offered around to a few clubs this window, including us, would assume we have bigger targets in mind if we have said no.
Think it may more be to do with Miggys emergence as a god among mere mortals meaning a CM has jumped up the priority order compared to a wide forward type.

wish the PA bloke would sort his life out. Wor Flags unveiled their display, a loud, organic version of WHO'S THAT TEAM WE CALL YANITED was being belted out. and he just drowns it out with the forced as fuck Hey Jude, and then things went flat. it's like he's on autopilot at this point. needs a kick up the arse
Pretty sure he has a matchday cut that rolls all of them together in one long track. Blitzkrieg Bop, Hey Jude, O Fortuna, that shite PL anthem and Local Hero. Literally presses play at the right time and he's off on a skive till half time.

For our transfer historians, when was the last time a cash + player bid was successful?
Seemingly only happens in my FM saves, I can’t think of the last example
Feel like these deals have so many moving parts that they never come off. At least all as part of the same deal. Like, I want to say Brighton got that Levi Colwell lad around the same time Chelsea got Cucurella, but the two deals weren't technically linked. More of like the big deal leading to an understanding the second deal will happen.

Don’t have to worry about going for Tielemans anymore.
Burnsie tweeted we’ve initiated contact with Leicester so that guarantees he’s off to Arsenal
God, it's been so long since the Summer I almost forgot about that mental and all his alt accounts that chat to each other back and forth.

He was really solid last season and a few months later he's behind Murphy.
Aye. That run of games he had when we started our upturn in form really led me to think he would be back to his best under Howe. Once Miggy got back in at the end of last season Fraser has never really looked close to getting back to that form. If Celtic or Rangers can afford his wages he'd look like a god up in Scotland.
-
Tielemans would be a fantastic signing. So far I can't really think of a player Howe and the coaching team haven't improved. Imagine how good Tielemans could be.

FFP isn't a thing in Golf. What the PIF have done there would be the equivalent of creating their own Premier League in football. Like it or not, until we have our commercial ducks in a row (and start consistently qualifying for Europe), FFP will be a pain in the arse.

It's functioning exactly as intended.
Exactly this. For all the bullshit they spout about it being important in stopping clubs getting into financial difficulty, it's prime reason for existing is to make it as hard as possible for teams to upset the established top teams.

Me too. Wasn’t there a hue and cry about the cost of goldfish and their bowls in the office when the finances fell apart?
Hey man, that goldfish has a name. Seth Johnson.

We where strongly linked to Gallagher in the summer, wonder if we go back if Chelsea get Enzo.
Wouldn't be shocked at all. Could see a loan with option/obligation to buy in the Summer.

LB - Targett/Lewis (BDB here forever)
Have a feeling this will also be addressed in the Summer. Feel like Howe will want a better out and out LB long term. Only knock against us I can really think of at the moment is (with ASM not playing) teams know to expect 90% of our danger to come from the right hand side with Miggy and Trippier.
-
One caveat I'd also add to Tielemans. He may be deliberately waiting out his contract. If he is available on a free in the Summer it likely means a big signing on bonus for him.

How much do people realistically expect Tielemans to go for ?
With his contract being up in the Summer I honestly don't see how it can be more than £15m at the absolute most. Wouldn't be shocked if it were £10m. It's that or he walks for nothing in the Summer.

Tielemans is class.
As is Maddison. But where does Maddison fit into our XI?
This is where I am at. I would think maybe as the more outright attacking player in the midfield 3. Only issue with that would be Bruno playing as an outright number 6. Which he is great at, but he can offer so much more higher up the pitch as well.
-
Taking that with a grain of salt as I honestly don't think any journo will have an inside track now Ashworth is in and will largely have a team in place. That being said, I do think either would be exciting. Obviously Maddison would be the more headline grabbing option, but I do see how Tielemans would fit. Essentially would unlock Bruno to operate higher up the pitch without having to worry about leaving holes.
-
Trippier can also play LB. In fact he is probably the best LB at the club, just so happens he is the best RB in the league so he plays there
-
Given his gradual increase in minutes, and an opposition who will likely be happy to sit back and invite us onto them to break down so they can counter, I actually think Max will start against Leeds. The Bournemouth game was a reminder that we still can struggle to unlock sides when they're happy to sit back, and ASM has that bit about him where you can give him the ball and he can go past a player or 2 at pace as suddenly he's into the box and the opposition are shitting themselves. I love Miggy, but he often needs to be played in by someone.

Is Mudryk to Arsenal going to happen or just rumours?
Aye, that one seems to have genuine legs. Only thing that may now make them think twice is Jesus being injured, though Nketiah seemed to do fine the other night.
-
Jorginho thing is either his agent trying to create some 'interest' in his client with his contract being up for renewal, or Chelsea saying 'hey, come get Jorginho so we have room to bring in Fernandez.' There's no way we're actually interested I reckon.

I wonder what Craig Hope thinks of Simon Jones, Hope is pretty bang on, but Jones just links us with random players. Always annoying when I see us linked in the Mail to someone and its not Hope.
Aye, he seems to be happy spewing out whatever is fed to him by agents.

Tielemans no thanks, he’s a decent player but lacks that intensity and physical up and down the pitch type of game which is now our forte.
Also think he is likely a little too similar to Bruno. Whole point of getting a top quality holder is to allow Bruno more freedom to roam. Tielemans also likes to play with a similar sort of freedom, rather than just sitting deep.

Before he got injured Maxi was doing very well i thought.
He was less gung ho in the sense of going for glory himself and was looking for a way to get the ball to a teammate more often than he used to.
Then he got injured. But as said above, Howe will figure out how to get the best out of him in his system.
But further down the pecking order than Murphy? Nah
Aye, feel like he was on course to have his best season for us. And, as you pointed out, seemed to be showing signs of being more of team player. If I remember rightly his injury was likely caused by him busting a gut chasing back for the Wolve/Jimenze goal that was ultimately ruled out for offside.
-
Hoping he is our main target in the Summer. Absolutely no chance of it happening in Jan.
-
Aye, feel like even when we were broke/shit we had become a bit of a bogey team for them.

Can't seem to shake the feeling we will get something tonight. Feel like this is exactly the sort of game we relish. Going 1-1 draw, but with us taking an early lead before being pegged back in the second half.
