Once when I was a kid Warren Barton asked me at one of these things if I wanted a picture or autograph with him and I said nah, you're alright. I still feel bad about it - it haunts me. It wasn't that I didn't like him though, it's just this was about 1999 or so and I'd already got his autograph multiple times, I wanted Duncan Ferguson's now.
Stone cold, man.

Yep, prettty sure even if he's fit we'll leave Wilson till Fulham now.
Will be interested to see what happens when Wilson is fit. Does Isak drop to the bench, does Wilson start on the bench, or does Isak play wide and Almiron comes out?

8 for me. A very solid 8.
Made Targett permanent, which is solid. Signed one of the most highly rated young CB's in Europe (from under the noses of Milan no less). Didn't think it at first, but these opening games have proven that Pope is an upgrade on Dubravka. Then capped it off by demolishing our transfer record to sign a 22 year old footballing unicorn of a striker, who early indications suggest will take to the PL like a duck to water.
Also, even captain happy Luke Edwards suggests we will look to be active in Jan.

Judging by how upset West Ham fans are by this I'd say this lad is the long term successor to Trippier, and not just here to add depth in the short term.

We're going to have to break the wage structure in 12 months if we're going to keep Bruno and even ASM possibly.
But it's better to do it in 12 months, more commercial revenue. And this way you're doing it for a number of players, not just one. Stuff like that can cause resentment, and suddenly this supposedly fantastic dressing room attitude we have starts to turn.

Ashby nearly done according to 90mins.
-
Ando7 and Pete Graves both having fun today.
-
Honestly think we're done. Ashby the most likely, but still reckon its a long shot. Only late drama could be that Alvarez lad at Ajax forcing through a move to Chelsea, which may free un Gallagher for a loan. But even then, if it's just a loan I imagine he will stay in London and end up at Palace again.

Nothing new there as long as he isn't including timeframes. Yep, club like Tielemans, but that has been true all Summer. We know loan moves were discussed with Chelsea re those two a couple weeks ago, unless he says 'today' or 'currently' its just clever wording designed to get you to stick SSN on.
-
I know they're generally canny, but you can't take the Sky lads (Keith and Pete) seriously today. Everything they put out today is designed to drive you to Sky Sports News, which curiously seems far more ad heavy today for some reason.....

We bid for Nzogbia with 1 hour left once didn't we?
That was back when we bid for players purely for show. Got the Carroll money in and knew they had to at least make it look like they tried. Just went with the player they knew wasn't for sale and, in the unlikely event of the bid actually being accepted, wasn't interested in coming anyway.

He was absolutely immense yesterday, no fear and really dangerous and to say he's not even up to speed with the squad yet nor played with the likes of ASM and Bruno I'm really excited for when everyone is fit, think he's going to tear it up this season.
Bruno through balls to Isak
Think his game is going to really suit the PL. Much fast pace, games get more stretched, giving him more opportunites to get in behind to go one and one with a keeper. His second 'offside' goal shows he has insane levels of composure.
-
Really don't think Tielemans is coming in. The wages he would want would make him the highest paid player in the squad. Which on the surface may not seem like a big deal, but how do the likes of Bruno and ASM (or at least their agents) see that and not demand a bump.

Like when we bought Bruno, we were in the middle of a great run so he kept keeping the faith with the same midfield and perhaps rightly so. I'm sure if we get horsed tonight with Isak on the bench, he'll start at the weekend.
Not really, we had beaten Leeds and then Bruno was available for the following game (Everton at home). Howe was pretty clear that he didn't want to throw Bruno in till he had a chance to fully come up to speed. Now, I actually think Isak's skillset is actually a little more 'plug and play' with the Premier League so wouldn't be shocked if he is starting by the weekend. But I will be shocked if he is starting tonight.

Watch him be on the bench
I mean, everything we know about how Howe operates suggests this is likely to be the case.

I still think we will make one more play for Harrison as well.
As much as I would love this, the way he has started the season combined with them not wanting to sell likely means his price is as high as ever now.

There’s potentially so many ‘dominoes falling’ in the next 35 hours, wonder if any pleasant surprises will topple our way?
Think there is the potential for Chelsea to panic and spunk another 50-60m on a player. Depending on position could make Gallagher or Pulisic available. Seems like Pulisic is thrilled about a season on the bench.

Fulham 1-1 Brighton
Palace 2-1 Brentford
Southampton 0-2 Chelsea
Leeds 2-1 Everton
Bournemouth 1-2 Wolves
Arsenal 3-0 Villa
Man City 4-1 Forest
West Ham 1-2 Spurs
Liverpool 2-0 Newcastle
Leicester 1-3 Man United

Do we get a midfielder and winger?
I think ultimately... yeah. I think we loan someone and they probably end up a little desperate and slightly over-paying for someone. Wouldn't be shocked at all if it's two Chelsea lads. Pulisic loan and Gallagher buy.
-
Obviously Bruno being out is a huge blow. But last season we lost Trippier and didn't really miss a beat. Fully trust Eddie and the way he has the lads playing.

What’s all this Bruno rumour based on?
No pictures of him in the training photo's. No pre-match tweet from him last night which he usually does. Few random 'ITK' style tweets.

If he is injured the blame lies solely at eddies feet, there was absolutely no reason to risk the best player in our team that close to the end when in a winning position.
Really?? By what limited speculation we currently have, he has tweaked something. Could literally have happened at any time.

Which, according to that article yesterday in The Athletic, was the same afternoon when we re-opened talks for Isak, and got enough of a good feeling that Ashworth and Nixon were out there the next day.

The big South American teams (Brazil especially) will often play friendly fixtures in Europe. With 90% of their squad playing in Europe they know its far easier for them to turn up to friendlies if its on their doorstep. I imagine the Brazilian fans feel about as hyped for international friendlies as we do, so don't really care. Back in the early 2000's the Brazilian national side almost had entirely different squads for friendlies vs competitive internationals as so many of the big stars playing in Europe would pull out of friendlies rather than travelling half way round the world and back in the space of 5 days.
