  1. The idea that we put so much on character and dressing room unity then proceed to spend £60m on a guy who's scouting report read "Technically sound, hard-working, has a tattoo of Alessandro Nesta on his right arse cheek, hates bridges and is allergic to pease pudding"
  2. Would certainly explain why SELA is absent from the current training kit. I'm fairly sure Fun88 was on last years gear?
  3. You've got to assume that outside the WSL we're going to be one of the most attractive options. Will be interesting to see how bold we are. Obviously there's no FFP in women's football but we've also committed to sustainable, steady progress in the men's game so will we look to do the same with NUW?
  4. His announcement video will just be him and Botman crying over a picture of the San Siro
  5. Interesting article about him on the Athletic - apparently we don't see him as the one to allow Bruno to push forward, he's been brought in to play left or right #8 (the Willock/Longstaff role). Don't know what this means for potential moves for Maddison etc
  6. All makes a lot more sense now I see he's involved in a Patreon podcast. Thought-out, reasoned analysis = no listeners "FOOTBALL IS DEAD", screamy emotion = listeners & ?
  7. It's the confidence that he absolutely has his shit together and knows exactly what he's doing. Nothing flashy, very minimal public presence, just very, very good at what he does.
  8. I don't actually know at what point we (and everyone else) will know about the 5th place thing, we obviously won't know when the season starts.
  9. It's not confirmed but you're right that next season is when UEFA have introduced two extra spots for the countries with the highest coefficients, England is usually one of them and that would mean the top five would get into the CL the following season.
  10. £132k/week plus bonuses. Gives us an idea of what Bruno will be offered.
  11. Shift Gordon to the #11 shirt, Tonali gets #8. Matt Richie can have his pick of the 40s.
  12. I just mentioned the backup forward because it's been mentioned in all the relevant articles - that we want someone who can play across the front three as cover.
  13. Call me Craig Hope but I don't see us spending £60m on Tonali, then another £50m on Maddison/Szoboszlai, reinforcing LB and CB then bringing in a backup forward. If I was to guess I'd say Tonali was our marquee signing, then we'll look elsewhere for the second CM to leave money in the budget for the other two or three.
  14. Not sure if it will be on UK TV anywhere but the France/Italy game will be shown on the UEFA Website along with all the other games in the tournament.
  15. Caulking suggesting there could be some news very soon, didn't specifically name Tonali but they were talking about him at the time...
  16. I just have this image in my head of this guy sat under that table with the directors & agents sat around it, cup to his ear pressed against the underside and typing away furiously on his phone.
  17. Like a Wish version of that Mexico kit from (I think?) 1994
  18. Looks to me light the Newcastle to London flight was cancelled https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/g-iply
  19. That's about £130k/week. Either lots of journalists are spouting bollocks or people on both sides of this are doing a lot of talking. Leaks coming out left, right and centre.
  20. Whether we get him or not, this is definitely the type of DM we need. The way we set up doesn't lend itself to a classic destroyer type, neat 5-yard passes sideways etc. We need someone who can do what Bruno does from the #6 position - receive the ball under pressure and get things moving forwards as quickly as possible.
  21. If he's currently on €3-3.5m per year, doubling it is well within our budget (between £95k and £115k per week) I wonder if it's a deal we've pursued because we knew (or found out) that he's only on about £45-50k/week? Will be interesting to see if we are willing to go above £50m, and if so how much.
  22. The "Story on Twitter" is that a current PL boss has been interviewed by Police over a historical rape allegation.
  23. It's been my position on Castore all along, I actually quite like the gear and the kits (the big-4 was a bit of an issue but a nice kit otherwise) but their manufacturing and logistics are not suitable for a Premier League club. Nowhere near.
  24. And the white ones still don't seem to be for sale, other than as part of the kids kit!
