Isn't that literally one of the charges facing Man City? That Pellegrini (?) was being paid by a "third party" that was essentially still the owners of MCFC?
-
Absolutely no chance we're spending £50m+ on a striker unless Isak goes imo. That guy from Portugal linked earlier is the sort of market we'd be shopping in.
-
Forest are about to get a points deduction that could relegate them. Everton are about to get their second and could suffer the same fate. Man City are spending a fortune fighting 115 charges that would all vanish if the rules themselves were thrown out. Ourselves and Villa (among others) are falling behind every transfer window, FFP/FMV preventing us from catching up. What do you think they're all waiting for?
-
I'll ask the obvious question - why haven't they then? This has been my position for a while now, with hundreds of millions at stake, now multiple clubs being affected by these rules and yet nobody has even hinted at going down this route. Even Man City are arguing against their charges rather than against the rules the charges are based on.

You can take £5-7m off for Hall for starters. Three new players on £75k/week is another £10-12m. That leaves £10-15m on amortised transfer fees which assuming we go to the maximum of 5 years is £50-75m on fees. It's really difficult to predict though because an extra £5m either way on turnover can skew it by multiples of five!
-
How much is that worth, I thought it was £20m/season?
-
£8m from three home games seems a little light? The cheapest tickets were about £60.
-
He estimates our total prize money at £29m. Add in three home games and the whole venture is probably worth around £40m for us. Quite a big gap to fill next season.
-
...that's Manchester United who got less points than we did in the group stage "earning" £20m more than us
-
You don't need to move completely away from the ballot to allow people more control over where they end up. At the moment there are three categories I think? So really you could end up anywhere. Surely it wouldn't be that difficult to create more categories that people could apply for? If you make it clear which areas are safe standing/focused on making an atmosphere, then people who want to do that can apply for tickets in those areas. If that isn't what you want, you apply for tickets in one of the other areas.

Straight from the udder to the grande salted caramel mocha. Wouldn't have mine any other way.
-
It's the same as SAFC fans trying to get one up on us because they have more league titles or Boro crowing about whatever it was they won ("Trophy virgins"). We've all got a shocking record trophy-wise and have done for 50+ years!
-
Clutching at straws here but perhaps we haven't pushed too hard against the PLs rules because we think we might be able to exert some pressure on this new "regulator"?
-
To improve the atmosphere you need; 1. Clearly designated areas for people who want to make a load of noise, ideally safe standing 2. Make it easy (by which I mean people can buy/apply for tickets specifically in these areas) & affordable for those people to get tickets in those areas Without those two changes things like pre-match music, half time entertainment, pyro () etc is just skimming the surface.
-
Of course, but that's no different to now though. I just don't see how this has a huge impact on our spending power. Unless they're also scrapping all the FMV stuff (and there's been absolutely nothing to suggest that) our spending power is still capped and still considerably less than the clubs we need to overtake if we are going to regularly compete for top 4 places.
-
You could argue that it would encourage clubs to invest more in infrastructure, training facilities, academies etc which would be a good thing
-
It's not £127m extra every year, you're still paying the amortisation on players already signed in previous years.
-
That's exactly what it is, just tying it in as a % of turnover per year rather than losses over a three year cycle. Would love to think @Dokko is right but that's not how I'm reading it.
-
I'd read somewhere that it was going to be 70% for clubs in CL and 85% for the rest
-
I don't think it's as simple as being a "backup", Eddie is on record saying he wants two starting XIs to pick from. That's why we have Tino (£40m), its why we spent £30m on Barnes six months after spending £40m on Gordon. I also don't think we'd make a move at £50m, but if Everton go down and/or end up in serious financial bother then we might fancy him for £10-20m less than that.
-
If we are weak as piss when he's missing presumably signing someone like Onana would be ideal whether Joelinton stays or not?

Alright Lyle Lanley...

Quite a lot of sealife are MLFs Clownifsh famously got their red & white stripes from a mackem scuba diver in the 1950s and there's a large Basking Shark SAFC Supporters Club that make regular trips to the coast off Roker Beach
