  1. East Stand is sold out so that's 5-6k? Quite a few tickets left in the bottom section of the safe standing area but only a few on the sections above. They're starting to release tickets in the lowest tier of the Gallowgate.
  2. I think the issue is that potentially one or both of Bruno and Joelinton could be on their way in the summer. If nobody goes we are actually pretty well stocked at CM and it would take a special player to justify the outlay.
  3. It helps that too. The newly promoted teams have less FFP room - for example, Forest last season had £35m from their PL season but only about a third of that for each of the previous two seasons because they were in the Championship.
  4. Just to check - this is the appeal over the original 10pts deduction that has already been applied isn't it? And they then have another case to answer (along with Forest) once this appeal has concluded?
  5. If we take Howe at his word, the plan was/is to have two XIs so you'd have to look at how you'd put those together and which players wouldn't have the quality to be regular top 6/7 PL starters. Pope/Dubz Trippier/Livramento Burn/Targett Botman/Schar/Lascelles/Krafth Bruno/Tonali Willock/Joelinton Longstaff/Miley Almiron/Murphy Gordon/Barnes Isak/Wilson So LB, CB, RW and CF are the obvious ones, assuming Isak & Wilson can't stay fit. CM would obviously be needed if Bruno or Joelinton left.
  6. Someone's going to have to write down the lyrics for me, got no idea what any of that is aside from Ole
  7. I'm fairly sure I couldn't perform heart surgery, but if a cardiologist ends up sewing my aorta up by mistake I'm probably allowed to pass comment on his failings. Or at least I could do if I wasn't dead.
  8. Fair enough, I got the impression from your original message that it annoyed you that we preferred McTominay etc over Thuram, Kone etc when that's not really what it says.
  9. Have you read the article? Seems you've just taken two separate pieces of information and merged them together to annoy yourself about something?
  10. For mid-season signings - prioritising PL experience. Doesn't suggest that we'll have the same preference come the summer.
  11. I was going to say Joe Willock but if it's NUFC related it doesn't necessarily mean a player...
  12. I'd argue that if the goal of PSR/FFP is to prevent clubs from going bust, points 3 & 4 would be sufficient. Having a spending limit tied to revenue still creates the uneven playing field that benefits the more established clubs we have now.
  13. Someone mentioned PIF getting into rugby and I shot the idea down at the time so credit where its due. Would love to see someone invest in the Falcons, although that article suggests they'd be looking at 10% of multiple clubs rather than investing heavily in one.
  14. If, after all the FFP/PSR talk this month, we drop £50m on a CB I'm never going to believe anything ever again. It'd be like Santa Clause x100
  15. It's a fake account isn't it?
  16. If the story is "Newcastle make enquiry" then it could very well be true, I'm sure he's a player we'd be interested in if he was available. Obviously if Villa say "We want £60m" or Ramsey himself isn't really convinced then it won't go any further than that. It does seem a bit odd that we keep putting out that we are under FFP constraints yet we're being linked to £40m+ players like MGW, Onana & Ramsey. I wonder whether it's more putting feelers out for players we have on our summer shortlist that we might end up going for if we do end up moving someone on.
  17. Yeah ours was in the cup but Forest/Burnley is a league game
  18. Exactly my point - we've shown that we can move to get a deal done quickly if circumstances change. In the above example it's Wilson's injury, in the post I was responding too it was the (hypothetical) sale of Almiron. I may be misremembering but was Burn similar? We spent quite a while chasing Botman then quickly pivoted to Burn when we couldn't agree on a price? My son was only about a week old at that point so that whole transfer window is a bit of a blur if I'm honest
  19. Agree on the first point but on the second - we have no idea what is going on behind the scenes. We could have a replacement lined up and ready to go if/when a deal for Almiron is done. The Isak deal springs to mind - nothing for weeks then suddenly he's on a plane here.
  20. Yes of course but if we're talking £45m that's around £7-9m/year. Quite a lot of pressure on the commercial side to cover that in one year? Saying "We sell for £XXm we can spend £XXm" is a massive oversimplification and it gets trotted out on a regular basis. I don't think it would have bothered me but I was up very early this morning and I'm grumpy as f**k
  21. Yes but...repeat after me... THE £15.8m PROFIT ONLY COVERS THE FIRST PART OF THE NEW £45m SIGNING We still have to find the rest of the £45m from the following years accounts.
  22. We got a deal on Isak because he was coming off a (relatively) poor season.
  23. We bringing him up in parts like?
  24. Where on the Athletic do they say that?
