Standard City.

Southampton are properly shit, but it wouldn't be the first time Man City have been on the end of a freak defeat. The dream is obviously: Man Utd vs Southampton Newcastle vs Nottm Forest then Newcastle beat Southampton to win tha Leeg Cup. More likely is: Man City vs Man Utd Newcastle vs Wolves then Newcastle shit house Haaland and De Bruyne and Miggy scores the winner, rubbing Grealish's hair on he way to collect his medal.

Newcastle United 2-0 Leicester City (10/01/2023)

ASM for Longstaff please. Wilson hasn't done anything wrong, but I'd like to see Isak have a go running at these, especially with the Leicester Defence worrying about Almiron who has run them ragged. -

Nice starting lineup, except I'd have ASM or Isak on the wing and Jur back in midfield in place of Longstaff, but good nevertheless. Hopefully Murphy and Wood get nowhere near the pitch (ever again) - it's not good for my stress levels. -
Good post. There are two clubs in the PL at the minute who have the resources to sustain success - Man City and us. Man City have had the time to build a dynasty, ours will come over the next decade. No other club comes close. Liverpool and Man United are historically big clubs, but nowhere near as big as they were. Liverpool were also massively overperforming under Klopp, and are now back to the level they should really be. Arsenal and Tottenham have always been imposters at the top table, although Arsenals current PL season is an incredible overperformance and they should be greatly congratulated for that. Leicester showed that it's possible to temporarily fly to the top. I agree with you that there is no 'Big Six' - as you said it's a Sky lie to try and generate interest. Our real rivals over the next decade will be Man City, the rest are just make weights and we absolutely shouldn't fear anyone on the basis that they used to be good.

Next season.

A swap plus cash deal for Maddison in Jan seems blindingly obvious. Dubravka can't stay here - he's nuked his bridges with the fans and the club. I imagine Darlow will go too, leaving Perp and Karius as our 1 and 2.

Best manager in my lifetime, best manager in the league, he's the one to lead our dynasty for the next decade. I hope the board realised today that we desperately need Maddison and a ready-out-of-the-box CF and CM in the January window to stop Eddie from having to pick sub-standard players like Wood and Murphy. Back him with funds, please!

Chris Wood (now playing for Nottingham Forest)
JumpersForGoalposts replied to BeloEmre's topic in Football
Lovely bloke, useless player. Injuries to Isak and Wilson show just how important it is that we get another quality forward who can play 9. Wood isn't good enough to be in any PL squad, let alone one challenging for a CL place. Thanks for being a nice bloke, but the sooner he's at a Champo/L1 club the better. I'd actually rather we played a midfielder as a false 9 than have Wood in the matchday squad. -

Well, yes. No one is perfect. Including us.
