  1. Gordon gave a bad interview though, so Garif won’t put him on
  2. Amazing isn’t it? Nearly three decades on, no cunt wants them there, yet on they toot and bang
  3. Getting taken to pieces here. No reaction from the bench.
  4. ‘More of the same lads, just more sleepy’ ’no bother gaffer’
  5. Fucking hell wake up you soppy twats
  6. Walker following the ball not the man
  7. Somehow felt inevitable. Completely asleep
  8. Would’ve taken 0-0 at HT before the game tbh. Not exactly a cracking game but as long as it stays like that you never know
  9. Coming up to 6am - ‘luckily’ for me the dogs wake me up just before 5am every day, so not too bad!
  10. The wind-ups don’t really work when the relative status of the clubs is where it is. It has a tragi-comedy air of desperation to it all. When we do it atm it will absolutely sting, because they know it is true - they’re fucked, they’re bitter, and they’re lying only to themselves. When they do it to us - well, we know the previous sentence applies there too
  11. I honestly thought it was tongue-in-cheek but I’m now worried that it wasn’t
  12. Apropos of nowt, Kyril Louis-Dreyfus was a Marseille fan
  13. Weren't we linked with him during the first post-takeover window?
  14. I think the fact that PCP hasn't actually paid for its share (it was given via a loan from the Reubens) would mean that they may not be in a position to pay for even that reduced stake. And if PIF are serious, even if they paid up for those shares they may have ended up diluted to a ludicrous degree. It does seem like Staveley has some cash flow problems coming up, and while she is wealthier than me, she's nowhere near wealthy enough to start chucking money at a small stake in a football club. This day was always on the near horizon - PCP will have been comfortably reimbursed for minimal risk. It doesn't stop Staveley returning to the club as a supporter if she wants. But the club now has experienced and respected football administrators onboard. Her place in the club's history is secure - her role in getting Ashley out should never be underestimated by anyone; I've always scratched my head about it, but she was the only person in that position who seemed to understand what the club's potential was and used her contacts to find a buyer (which as we know took her years of effort to get over the line). But she is a deal-maker, not a football club chair
  15. Nothing hilarious about any of this to me. This is precisely why Chelsea were one of the clubs who pushed for these rules in the first place - they have the means of exploiting the loopholes. The other members of the Sky Six would be in a similar boat. The rules were implemented by these clubs knowing full well they’d never suffer under them.
  16. Is this confirmed? Hadn’t seen who they sold their shares to (likely I missed it)
  17. This shite started with the World Cup - Italy got to the World Cup Final in 1994 despite finishing third out of four in the group stage. 82-94 were 24-team tournaments, and 86-94 had the ‘best third place teams’ shite

    England

If England win on Sunday, then Southgate is England’s greatest manager for me. The Euros is not as prestigious as the WC, but winning it on foreign soil, and also reaching a final, a semi and a QF previously would mean his record is superior to his predecessors. He would’ve needed to beat a very good (though not great) Spain side, and therefore have finally overcome the obstacle that most England managers don’t - getting past the first really good side they face. Southgate to date hasn’t improved upon his predecessors in that regard - beat Spain, and he has. I also think he’s a thoroughly mediocre manager and a poor tactician, and has been blessed with some phenomenally fortunate cup draws and a generation of talent which is the product of St George’s academy and the vast improvements in PL academies over the last decade. These are not contradictory positions.
  19. Seems apt given that adidas are our new kit manufacturers
  20. It will be comfortably double what was paid. NUFC’s price was already undercooked due to poor commercial performance. The agreed price for Everton last November was £550m.
  21. She’s talked before about her stake being diluted. I doubt she is surprised or upset about any of this - she will have achieved what she got into this for.
  22. I’ll give him credit for having two functioning eyes and taking Kane off, definitely
