  1. I agree - but in as much as he’s an asset if he’s playing. A fine and a promise of a sale next summer would be the carrot and stick for me.
  2. Vindictive or egotistical is the ‘let him rot for three years’ patter. That hurts the club as much as it hurts Isak.
  3. I will - I don’t support players, I support Newcastle United. I don’t give two shites about them - and for all the wank they talk in the press, I’ve never believed a player who gives it the ‘I love this club’ patter in the press.
  4. Yep - it was the Rokerites when I was a kid. Once that shit tip was knocked down, they got Soccer AM to vote on their new nickname - and the Soccer AM hosts were shocked when ‘Mackems’ didn’t win; they were ignorant of the fact that plenty of Mackems didn’t like being called Mackem …
  5. Was thinking about this today. Other than at CF (allowing for the Isak situation) I think we look stronger than we did at the start of last season - which has to be the aim
  6. I still think he looks much better at LW with an energetic LCM behind than he does in midfield
  7. Yep me too - and it looks like there is a good chance of the back-up CF in the form of Wissa joining once Brentford source a replacement. If Isak hadn't been acting the cunt (or we'd sourced his replacement) then this window would be looking a lot rosier.
  8. Provided he stays fit, I think this is a quality signing - the usual 'English premium' applies in any case. He'd be able to challenge Joelinton for that third midfielder slot - which is what is needed.
  9. I'm confused - are you talking about us or them? We signed those players, not Villa edit: apologies gdm - it reads like it was your take. Didn't realise it was a quote. The idea that Hall or Livramento were bad buys is nuts
  10. How noble of them to approach the club first and not to tap the player up (Very NSFW)
  11. Is that true? Never heard of a ‘forced buyback’ clause; seems incredible that it’s possible without the player’s permission.
  12. Doing the ‘calm down, calm down’ to the Westminster Quarters melody (complete with the Harry Enfield hand gesture) to Liverpool fans every time they got angry with the referee remains one of my favourite football childhood memories
  13. Haha yep, silly cunts - the lad has spoken in the past about his dream to join one of Spain’s big two. If Liverpool sign him he’ll be spoiling to do exactly this all over again if one of them want him.
  14. Yep - the daft cunts don’t realise he’d be rocking up at the Nou Camp or Bernabeu if this was to happen
  15. I’d happily wager money that you’re right here - this likely is how this plays out At any point are any of the English press going to hold Liverpool FC to account for their role in this?
  16. Being able to do more than one transfer negotiation at a time would have been a good starter for ten - most competently run clubs can manage this
  17. At least everyone now knows what Ornstein and Romano are - they’re ciphers for agents and do their work for them, unsettling clients and briefing against clubs. Absolute scumbags
  18. It looks like what I’ve had had my bedroom looking like if I’d had my way when I was 15. I’m now 43.
