Sorry to bang on about everyone’s least favourite boring topic, but this is also driven by PSR. Without it, the club would have been able to offer Isak crazy money if they wanted him, or made the call to let him rot if not. PSR means you can’t leave your most expensive amortised contract just ticking over - he represents 10% of our annual amortisation fees alone.

The mood music does sound like £130m now does it. Isak has successfully acted the cunt and reduced his value accordingly. That’s never, ever been the case. No-one has ever accepting having players who aren’t seen as good enough - you wouldn’t give a player grief, but there’s nothing wrong with saying a player isn’t good enough even though he plays in a committed manner. Songs and chants make zero difference in reality - maybe it loses public sympathy in terms of ‘optics’, but those people absolutely have the right to call out Isak’s bullshit. No player ever left or joined a club because of a song.

I’d be surprised if there’s a single post before June which suggests that what has happened was liable or likely to occur due to questions around Isak’s character - happy to be wrong

Did anyone have a hint before June that the lad had even a little bit of a cunt in him, never mind what he’s shown himself to be? We absolutely could sign someone like this again, the ‘no dickheads policy’ for transfers absolutely didn’t pick this up, nor did a single one of us think he was capable of acting like this.

Good luck to the lad, he was always a long shot punt, personally I don’t think these young lads should leave the A-League so early to rot in reserve sides etc.
