It was a player suing Newcastle which destroyed the old ‘retain and transfer’ system. Seems apropos if history repeats to destroy the player registration system.

It’s so calming that the manager and not the owners are answering that question - mainly because the owners have said sweet fuck all for years and have a vacuum at executive level at the club. I’ve seen this before of course - but at least this time it’s a good manager and not Alan Pardew having to answer for his bosses.

Will Osula: Goal vs Man United nominated for PL Goal of the Season

Yes, I am - he didn’t exactly pull trees up in the old second division. Send him to the old division three and see if the lad can smash it out the park. -
He’s a smoggie supporter, not Man Utd

So the paint job from three years ago won’t convince them?

It’s what Bournemouth paid for Kluivert jr. It is what you pay for an informed gamble - which is what Osula was. He’s a long way off it at present, and the chances are he doesn’t get much better from here. He desperately needs loaning out to a lower level club - and I’m not convinced that the second division isn’t too high a level at the moment, despite plenty suggesting ‘the Championship’ as a destination. Give him six months at a third tier club and see if he can score goals and get some confidence. -
Just don’t listen - it’s radio for people who use the word ‘bantz’. Football supporting as a penis extension. Who gives a shite what a sad sack Liverpool ‘supporter’ from Truro says?
-
The squad is weaker now than when we last qualified for the CL two years ago. That’s not great considering how fucked we were after a few months of the season.
-
Hang on, are you suggesting we go into a season with Osula up front and £150m in the bank? If we’re shopping in January, we’d be doing it from a likely horrific position on that basis. We’d struggle to win games.
-
We haven’t worked out yet that if bigger clubs are also interested, matching their wages isn’t going to persuade any top player to join
-
Tbf we’re unlikely to agree on this one - you’re impressed by body hire; I’m not, as it takes budget not competence to do that

-
Tbf I can remember this with Tonali as well - the Milan press and support claiming we’d need to bid £80m etc.

The numbers are wrong, but the business staff did double from 2022 to 2024. Might be worth considering that there was more staff onboard in 2021 than in 2022 - again, he couldn’t have been starting from an easier position.
-
Given the starting point, what did he do to build that?
