Yeah, they’ve defended well - I just think we’ve been a little over-intricate at times -

Other than Murphy our forwards and midfielders seem to want several more touches than necessary rather than having a shot, and Wolves get their chance to close -

Definitely - we’re just over hitting it a bit. I’m sure we’ll find our range at some point. -

Yep, two sloppy passes to the opposition so far. He isn’t too bad on the ball, but it is something he could do with cutting out from his game. -

Sometimes the PL international feed is a blessing - I don’t have to listen to Hoddle -
You’re probably right, though I’m 42 and had a ST from 89 onwards and that era for me was the ultimate case of footballing blue-balls; a failure with some fun moments, but more than anything proof of what we could be even if we didn’t maximise what we could be (the Halls and Shepherds were self-serving). All fart and nee shite.

I agree, but football is going to remain a financial regsathon, unfortunately. That’s unlikely to ever change.

The difference is that Spurs don’t actually spend what they could spend. No-one had said that the aim is to be like Spurs at any point. Spurs’ income increases are incredible; but they have a miserly ownership. Spurs’ ownership are like what we were under Ashley, had Ashley been competent. We can’t compete with the top clubs long term without serious revenue increases - our players will be picked off one by one. We should want to be competitive on a sustainable basis. I’ve zero sentiment for the current SJP, which to me always represented curtailed ambition and a previous ownership’s ability to award its other companies construction contracts. I don’t doubt those who do not wish to leave will be persuaded to leave, but they should not pretend that staying makes no difference to future ambitions. And personally I’m sick to fucking death of the club not being all it could be.
